Appleton Estate 15 Year Black River Casks
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed December 31, 2023 (edited March 8, 2024)Nose is rather herbally, green, I wouldn't call it funky. Gives a much younger impression than 15 years. Taste is good, a little sweet, quite hot actually. Started with 3.75, but after a few months it became very, very good, 4.5 -
Angostura 1919 Rum
Aged Rum — Trinidad & Tobago
Reviewed December 16, 2023 (edited December 30, 2023)On the nose rum (i.e. molasses) and strong vanilla, of the good kind, realy very good. Knowing its angostura I expected a very sweet palate, but its just a little sweet, it even has a (oaky)bitter finish. Very easy, smooth, sipper. Not good for a daiquiri. Possibly the smoothest drink I know. -

Pere Labat 55 Le Rhum Soleil
Rhum Agricole Éléve Sous Bois — caribbean, Martinique

Depaz Single Cask 2002 Hors D'Age
Rhum Agricole Vieux — Martinique
Reviewed November 10, 2023 (edited November 25, 2023)Compared to the vsop more oak and just a hint of cherry. Thank god not over oaked. Depaz rhums are one of the few that need some time to open up. The vsop for instance only became better and better over time, hopefully the same will happen with this bottle.
