Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 15, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)It's nice, but the elegance of the grain and the triple distillation is spoilt by too much oak, it becomes less subtle, less elegant and... more expensive. -
Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed October 15, 2016 (edited November 4, 2016)The first ever Irish whiskey that I enjoyed. Dry, spicy, fruity with an amazing oily texture. The transition from oily Irish flavours to rum is impressively subtle. -
Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt (Discontinued)
Blended Malt — Japan
Reviewed October 15, 2016 (edited January 30, 2018)Fruity, yummy, smoky! A round, delicious, wine-like, delicate whisky with such an elegant peat and delicious, sherry notes. Few whiskys have such a tender, comforting taste, with the brash Miyagikyo and the soft, watery, mineral Yoichi sitting side by side, completing each other. One to recommend!
