This whisky is a real treat: chocolate-mint notes, nuts, herbs, luxuriant creaminess, a beautiful oily texture that Amrut lacks, an elegant marriage of peat and spice and a subtle drop of dryness at the end. Not to mention a few fruity notes throughout (although I can't quite pin them down... cherry, maybe kiwi too?). This whisky is similar to Islay, but the peat style is different, more perfumed like Japanese peat and fruitier like French peat. The oily texture echos the fast aging, evoking the texture of Kavalan or P&M Corsican whisky. But otherwise, this website's review is pretty accurate.

Amrut Fusion Indian Single Malt Whisky
Single Malt — Bangalore, India
Reviewed October 27, 2016 (edited September 24, 2017)It's OK, it's interesting, it's different, but it's not amazing, the fruity flavours, the overly rich sweetness and the muddy, stale peat just don't mix that well for me. Yes, to be fair, the finish is pretty good, there are some nice roasted notes, but I prefer Paul John Edited. -

Compass Box Great King St Artist's Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed October 15, 2016 (edited March 25, 2018)A tasty treat! An amazing marriage of different Scottish styles (Lowland, Highland, coastal) and different oaks (bourbon and French oak). Sweetness, caramel, popcorn, medicinal notes, cream, spice, apple, pear, pomegranate and berries! Simply delightful. -
EDDU Silver Brocéliande
Other Whiskey — Brittany, France
Reviewed October 15, 2016 (edited October 19, 2016)Being from Brittany, this buckwheat whisky makes me nostalgic. I love the sweet oiliness, the coppery blood like twang, the distinctive, strong, earthy flavour of Breton oak, it is truly one of a kind.
