Four Roses Private Selection Single Barrel Barrel Strength (OESF)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 22, 2021 (edited November 29, 2021)Doing a competition between all recipes. Head to head with B versions VS E versions. Nose: wildflower honey on the nose for OESF. Somewhat sweet too but also very flowery. OBSF is a little bit sweeter to me on the nose. Black licorice for me. Palate: OESF: amazing palate. Sweet and thick. Also very hot initially (113.2 proof). Not super complex but very tasty. OBSF: little more tame on the palate and a bit more complex. Licorice on the palate too. Finish: OBSF: kind of a short finish. OESF: medium length finish. Overall: both very good picks and my first crack at a four roses barrel pick. To me the OESF wins just by a hair.90.0 USD per Bottle -
Chestnut Farms Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 20, 2021 (edited July 31, 2022)Nose: really really good nose. Fruity and caramel. Similar to new riff but a bit more rich. Palate: very good. Fruity but not a typical fruit taste. More dark berries. A good clean mouthfeel, super oily. Very late, if any, burn. Finish: fruity and very long. This is well done Overall: yes it’s $100 and I have no clue what the age on it is but we know it’s at least 4 years old. Honestly I think this is amazing. I want to see a barrel proof version and I definitely need a couple backups of this.100.0 USD per Bottle -
Garrison Brothers HoneyDew
Flavored Whiskey — Texas, USA
Reviewed May 13, 2021 (edited February 8, 2023)Nose: very spicy and rye like on the nose. I do get a little bit of honey but that might just be mind games. Light butteryness there too Palate: rich and spicy initially. The wildflower honey shines through about midway. And a very soft honey-driven ending. Finish: very sweet finish that shows up at the end. Overall: better than I thought it might be! I’d honestly like to taste this at barrel proof but I’m like that with everything. Especially for the $75 price tag I either want higher proof or aged longer. Not a super unique profile honestly and nothing I’d want to buy again but not mad about buying!75.0 USD per Bottle -
Uncle Nearest 1856 Tennessee Whiskey (Sourced Whiskey)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 10, 2021 (edited June 16, 2021)Color: I don’t usually comment on color but wow. For 100 proof this is a super light whiskey. Nose: burnt chocolate and spice on the nose. Probably needs to take a minute to open up. I get a bit more caramel after a few. Palate: heavy molasses type sweetness. Thick on the sweet, thin on the viscosity. Very oily too. Not much to it other than that. Finish: very short finish. Caramel and that’s it Overall: I think this was $50-60. And honestly, meh... definitely would not buy again at this price. Based on the whiskey itself I’d give a 3.5 but due to price it will be lower55.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: tons of rye. Like tons. Candy corn there as well. Honestly a pretty good nose. Palate: hot at first. Stays hot mostly but you can taste the rye and sweetness a little. Finish: short and sweet. That’s it Overall: not the worst thing. I was dead against buying but my fiancé wanted it so she bought it. Definitely not disappointed. Probably wouldn’t get again but it’s not bad!30.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: cereal, spice, and sherry notes initially. Buttery on the second go. Almost pear-like, as if it was a Japanese whisky after a few more goes at it. Palate: lots of pear and oily mouthfeel. Very briny on the mid palate but definitely a unique back palate. Finish: very much like a thin Japanese whisky. Overall: this is my first try from this brand and second ever Irish whisky. The only other one I’ve tried is Jameson 18 year and it was not even close to what this is like. If you’re a fan of Japanese whisky you’ll this one equally as much. For me, I do like this. Maybe I’ll find the 15 year one day!120.0 USD per Bottle

Smoke Wagon Small Batch Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Nevada), USA
Reviewed March 28, 2021 (edited March 29, 2021)Nose: not a lot going on. Maybe a little spice. Palate: definitely different than the straight bourbon and the uncut unfiltered. Very very tame palate. Jeez is this bottle smooth. Almost like caramel cake in liquid form. Just no burn at all. A little rye comes through in the middle. Finish: medium short length. Butterscotch candy. Overall: decent for the price. Definitely is completely different from the other two styles I’ve tried of theirs. But perhaps the smoothest bourbon I’ve ever had for 100 proof. I dig60.0 USD per Bottle -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 FAE-01
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 9, 2021 (edited March 19, 2021)Nose: lots of vanilla. Definitely fruity like the 2019 too which excites me Palate: yes!!! Fruit and spice initially. Very bold at first but becomes tame immediately. I think 2019 might be a bit more fruity. Cinnamon on the second sip Finish: big red gum on the finish! Decently lengthy finish too! Overall: I believe very well done. Good price point as usual and a solid bourbon! Happy with it and will probably get a back up70.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Very Fine Rare Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 5, 2021Nose: typical woodford sweetness. I do think I get some nice oak on the nose too! Lots of vanilla Palate: very very tame palate. Lots and lots of oak and vanilla. Honestly similar to a good double oaked private pick with not as much bite. Finish: malty, sweet, oaky as well. Overall: not super amazing. Just as good as a great double oaked private pick I think. Definitely not worth the price so this will be my only bottle of this200.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: lots of caramel and green smelling. Very fall like. Spices are strong too Palate: super super rye forward. Like insane. If you love rye you’ll absolutely love this. Kind of hot too. But a lot of grassy/bitter notes. Finish: same as palate just rye all the wag to the end. Pretty decently long finish too50.0 USD per Bottle
