George Dickel No. 8
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 20, 2015 (edited September 25, 2019)While No. 8 is a good solid whisky and I believe superior to Jack Daniel's No. 7, this is not the flagship Dickel product. The No. 12 is the flagship. No. 8 has more burn than the No. 12 and you pick up more char flavour. It is a great Tennessee Whiskey for mixing and makes a great mint julep. If you want a good whiskey for when your friends are over and they want a mixed drink keep this in your cabinet. Get a bottle of No. 12 for sipping, your Scotch drinking friends might even like it. -
High West Son of Bourye
Other Whiskey — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed May 13, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)Nice neat but water or ice really flattens it out. A bit of spice making it a safe intro to someone wanting a sweet introduction to rye. The nose reminded me of a small bakery. -
Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 13, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)Incredibly good nose. Is that caramel or toffee? Really nice cinnamon finish. Opens up with literally a few drops of water. -
Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 13, 2015 (edited September 25, 2019)So far my favorite Rye. Spicy and smooth. Opens up with just a little water and you get an excellent nose. -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select

Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 5, 2015 (edited January 18, 2021)Tried this on ice after Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select. That was a mistake. The JD was so very good it made it hard to drink this. I won't try this again for a long time.
