Tastes

This is a really nice Bourbon that we can't get in Australia. It really should be scored higher. An excellent whiskey that should not be taken for granted.

Surprisingly good, especially for the price. A lovely smooth drop.

Aggressive nose up front. Sweet and cinnamon burn. Apple pie?

Lots of ethanol when first poured. Takes a few minutes then really opens up and very complex on nose and tongue.

BIG Vanilla and extremely smooth. No burn just silk.

My favourite from Balvenie. I've only had a sample taste in duty free. Too rich for my blood but some could send me a gift.

Very smooth. Really shows how the Irish can create a superior whiskey. Had this dram at a steakhouse in Sydney. Fruity nose with honey. No burn at all. Noshi pear, clover honey, creme brûlée with toffee finish. No smoke, peat, brine or salt. Paired very well with the excellent steak because it completely let the steak flavours through without competing.
