Tastes

Light bodied and quaffable, it’s actually got a lot going on, albeit not earth shaking. Restrained citrus, tropical fruit, honey, barley, malt, barrel spices, milky tea, vanilla and chocolate notes battle ethanol and astringency to a standstill.

Barley, malt, apples, honey, barrel spices, oat meal and some punchy heat. Nice.

Pretty mild, a little honey, vanilla, caramel, pepper, sherry, oak and smoke. Mostly pleasant, but forgettable.

Sea shore, honey, sweet peat, malt, hints of vanilla, charcoal, licorice, tar and pepper. Better than average dram.

Dried fruits, sherry, green apples, fresh bread, malt, and honey. Enjoyable dram. Having tasted this after finishing a bottle of the 24 year old, I have to say that this is closer to the mean of the two than the the 24 year is, vis a vis the price of the two. Bumped 1/4 point.

Cask No. MO110321017A 57.1 ABV Neat: Thick, syrupy, rich, intense, figs, nuts. With a teaspoon of water: Molasses, honey, baking spices, nuts, figs, prunes, licorice, graham crackers, cherries, apricot, sultanas, malt, vanilla, caramel, on nose and viscous, oily, rich palate, and long finish.

Brown sugar, tobacco, creme brulee, hints of cherry, hot as heck, broke man’s Stagg indeed.

Earthy peat, brine, citrus on the nose. Oily, viscous, earthy peat again, light pepper, lemon and seashore notes. Finish is medium length, lightly peppery with a sour note. Thanks to @ctbeck11 for the sample

Sweet lemon candies, soot, charcoal, honey, malt and seashore great the nose. Palate is slightly viscous with more lemon candies, honey, malt, plus some caramel, red fruits, umami, sea salt, black pepper. Finish is longish and peppery. Thanks to @ctbeck11 for the sample.
