Dry Fly Straight Washington Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Washington , USA
Reviewed December 15, 2019 (edited December 23, 2019)I've always had a soft spot for Spokane since visiting as a preteen on a family road trip to Yellowstone and seeing the falls on the Spokane River. Maybe it's just sentimentality, but I liked this whiskey a lot. It needs some time in the glass to open up and let the ethanol dissipate. Once it has, the sweet wheat and caramel on the nose are inticing. The creamy palate displays more sweet wheat and caramel. It's also a little hot. The same notes appear in the medium length finish. -

Port Dundas 18 Year Single Grain
Single Grain — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 30, 2019 (edited August 18, 2022)Delicious butter cookies, chocolate, toffee and vanilla on the nose, super smooth palate and medium finish. Not complex, just great. Retaste 8/18/22 Butter cookies, chocolate and toffee on the nose, adds a little graininess, heat and sourness to the above notes on the palate, medium finish. I don’t think being opened for two and a half years has been kind to this whiskey.
