Craigellachie 13 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 21, 2019 (edited September 29, 2020)Apples, pears, honey, malt and a hint of smoke on the nose, the palate is hardy, round and creamy with same notes as the nose plus some spices, so enjoyable just to hold this and let the flavors intermingle, the finish is long and warming. -

Reviewed November 21, 2019Yeasty ale on the nose with a hint of cereal and smoke, the palate is cool and creamy with malty cereal notes, the finish is medium length and a little hot with a hint of malt-o-meal and smoke. It grows on me with each dram. -

Compass Box The Peat Monster (Classic Brown Label)
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed November 19, 2019 (edited January 25, 2020)This is more Pete the friendly dragon than Ghidorah. The nose is a wonderful blend of peat, bacon fat, ham and brine. The palate is viscous and creamy with green olive, seaside and grilled meat notes. The finish is longish with peat and smoked meat notes until the end. -
Cognac Park XO Cigar Blend
Cognac — Cognac, France
Reviewed November 18, 2019 (edited September 26, 2021)5th of 6 in a sample pack of Park Cognac. Park Cognac is back on track after the disappointing XO traditional. I found this to be an amazing cognac. There is some sasaparilla on the nose, as well as other complex earthy, herbal and spicy notes that I can't even begin to decipher. The entry on the palate is soft and round with more of the same notes as the nose. The finish is warming, long and satisfifying. This is worthy of a full bottle purchase. -
Cognac Park XO Traditional Reserve
Cognac — Cognac, France
Reviewed November 18, 2019 (edited November 21, 2019)4th of 6 in a sample pack of Park Cognac. This XO is supposedly made with a blend of 20 to 25 year old brandies, Starts out with strong oak on the nose, there's some faint cocoa and prune notes, supple vanilla and black tea on the palate, the finish seamed a little short and bland. Quite disappointing after tasting the vsop and borderies. -
Dalwhinnie Winter's Frost (Game of Thrones-House Stark)

Glen Moray 2002 (Alexander Murray)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 16, 2019 (edited November 22, 2019)Found this at Costco a couple months ago. $28.99 for a cask strength, 12 year old, single malt scotch. Too good of a deal to pass up. Initially I get Dole fruit cocktail syrup on the nose, after a few minutes it morphs into salty caramel apple and some apricot type notes. The palate is initially salty with stone fruits, but the heat overwhelms my taste buds very quickly. There's a short sour note on the lengthy, spicy finish. A splash of water mutes the heat on the palate and brings forth some caramel, it also seems to eliminate the sour note on the finish.
