Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 24, 2020 (edited November 15, 2020)I am loving the bourbon! This one just hits my palette in a beautiful way. My favourite bourbon so far. -
A gentle and surprisingly complex blended scotch! Inviting with the nose of cinnamon raisin bread, subtlety introduces you to smoke and vanilla, sort of like a burnt crème brûlée, in good way, as hits your mouth. Like a baby- laphroaig it try’s to hang in there with the peat. Simple finish as the smoke lingers subtlety and pleasantly. For the price, this is a great scotch to introduce someone to who wants to try something “Smokey”!

Sweet vanilla and cotton candy on the nose. Salt water taffy and cream, with... hibiscus? A little playful spice on the pallet from the barrels, quickly dissipates and leaves you with a Christmas pudding, warm sweet and savoury. Rich dark fruit. If it wasn’t for the floral nose, in the mildly herbal palatte, This would be hard to discern his Gin.

Glenlivet 15 Year French Oak Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 7, 2020 (edited August 23, 2020)Sweet cream, and vanilla bean on the nose. Just enough of a nose to tell you something good is about to happen, but not so much that you know what it is. As it rolls past the lips, you’re immediately hit with a friendly and playful spice that quickly turns into a sweet and rich flavour with a very pleasant mouth feel. It’s not an overly complex single-malt, but brilliantly executed! Finishes dry, but in a good way. A refreshing end with the palette ready for the next sip!
