Vanilla and caramel on the nose. On the palate I get a smooth vanilla cream with a hint of citrus followed by a little heat. The finish is long and I get notes of caramel sweetness. My scale: 1 - I’m giving this drink away 2 - I’ll mix it, but doesn’t stand on its own 3 - Enjoyable, but I’m willing to try something new 4 - Very good, If it’s on the shelf or menu - I’m buying 5 - Greatness Achieved, this drink is worthy of collecting

Great everyday sipper for the price. Nice citrus tones, sweet balanced by some oak and easy heat. Took this from another review - not going to reinvent the wheel in this one. Good mixer! "The nose is very light. I get some honey and malts. The taste is also pretty light. I saw someone else say butterscotch and I think it trends that way. Honestly for the price, it's a great budget Irish that I don't mind drinking neat. Nothing off-putting about it.” My scale: 1 - I’m giving this drink away 2 - I’ll mix it, but doesn’t stand on its own 3 - Enjoyable, but I’m willing to try something new 4 - Very good, If it’s on the shelf or menu - I’m buying 5 - Greatness Achieved, this drink is worthy of collecting

On the nose I get wood with a soft sweet corn. On the palate it’s leather upfront with slight heat and then notes of rye bread. It has a nice medium weight to it and the finish is long with a pleasant floral and herbal spice. Not the standard vanilla, caramel, cherry etc. bourbon flavor I’m used to. First couple drams I was not a fan, but once I get past my own expectations I appreciate it for the different flavor profiles and great weight and finish.

This is a Binny’s Beverage Depot Store Pick. Sweet on the nose - caramel, vanilla. It’s a medium to full body feel. The palate comes with cinnamon and heat that fades to caramel, vanilla and coconut. The finish is long - starts with oak and fades back to the caramel, coconut, chocolates. Very good bourbon!

NOTE: tasting Fall 2011 The 2011 bottle is good but not worth the hype, can’t speak to later offerings. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it but wouldn’t spend secondary market prices. Smooth at first but then hits almost immediately with some burn, lots of spice. The finish is uneventful, pick up on licorice, medicinal flavors.

Mind blown on this 2012 bottle. A unicorn that lives up to the hype! Caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, etc. - this is the everlasting gobstopper of all the classic bourbon flavors. Heavy viscosity that coates the mouth. At 140+ proof this is a very easy drinker. Just an amazing bourbon!

It’s good but not great. I picked up on earthy tones but didn’t get a ton of the rye spice. It’s a thinner body than I would have expected. At $30 I’d pick up a bottle and give it a shot but I’m not clearing the shelves. Hits with consistent heat through the palate which I like. Spice, leather, cherries notes. Easy finish. Very good bourbon but this bottle labeled Spring 2013 not worth price tag to me.
