Tastes

Lots of dried fruit, fruit cake aroma and taste, citrus on tasting like orange peel.

Contrary to ither reviews I don’t find this especially smooth nor sweet. The nose has a sharpness that is also in the palate and though there are raisin notes and light smoke I would say this is a far cry from some of the almost sticky sweet, spicy single malts that are a delight on a cold winter.

Sweet cereal and citrus (orange peel) on the nose. Powerful to drink for the age (not thin or too light) but lacking the roundness of finish want might hope for from later Cotswolds releases.

Fruity, very spicy. Has a powerful finish. I’d say pretty full. Overall I’m a fan of the flavour profile but find the fullness a little too much to make this a favourite.

Not too harsh to start with but grows a little. Very clean. Not a lot of specific flavours to call out. Maybe some sweetness from the Madeira. Nice but not outstanding.

Some dried fruits and biscuit. Not much smoke but a little.
