Rebel Distiller's Collection Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed April 18, 2021 (edited June 23, 2021)Bitter. Spicy. Peppery. No sweetness. Decent price and as good as the single barrel rebel 100 / 10 year old in my opinion.45.0 USD per Bottle -
Daviess County Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 3, 2021 (edited September 23, 2022)Spicy. Citrusy. Like oranges sort of similar to WT Kentucky Spirit but sweeter. Baked bread nose. Really smooth and unique flavor. I highly recommend it.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 7, 2021 (edited March 19, 2021)Lots a different flavors. Deep flavor but has a lot of different layers. It shines with some water splashed in. Great nose. I love this whiskey. Worth the investment70.0 USD per Bottle -
George Dickel 15 Year Tennessee Single Barrel
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 7, 2021 (edited April 6, 2021)Heavy char flavor. Sweet. Nice nose. Tastes like it’s age. Lots of flavor. I get dark chocolate and spices type thing in the flavor. Robust flavor is the best way for me to describe it. I very much like this whiskey. Buying a backup/spare bottle today. Worth every penny. Compared to Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof, this whiskey has less layers of flavors than the Jack but it is very different and delicious, too, which I appreciate.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 26, 2021 (edited February 8, 2022)#72 bought at distillery. Lots of spice and oak. Tastes young. Too young or something. To me, it is not a very full flavored bourbon. Nice char finish. But medium finish that sort of fades into what reminds me of an over watered down bourbon like god awful Basil Hayden60.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 26, 2021 (edited March 2, 2021)Sweet. Rich flavor. Very nice finish. Wine like tannins and acidic. I taste fruit flavors of some sort. Really tasty. Lots of nose. Vanilla or cookies baking? Something pretentiously descriptive like that. I bought the little bottle. I’m going to add the regular sized bottle to my collection. I don’t prefer the regular Woodford but this one is really really good. Not disappointed in the least. 90 proof is so perfect.30.0 USD per Bottle -
WhistlePig Old World Cask Finish Rye 12 Year
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Vermont), USA
Reviewed February 12, 2021I really didn’t like this at all. I do like regular Whistlepig but I should have known better than to buy a sherry cask finished rye. Personally, the wine tannic taste is pronounced to me and I despise it. Even in Scotches. It was a stupid purchase on my part. I poured the bottle out after it sat for over a year. Horrible. To me. Obviously others might love it. But whisky reviews are subjective.120.0 USD per Bottle -
Lock Stock & Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey 16 Year
Rye — Canada
Reviewed February 12, 2021 (edited June 24, 2022)Old rye (12-18 years) tastes so different from the more common four year olds like Peppers or Willett. This is so earthy and more levels of flavor. I get spice but I also get something very deep and earthy like moss, peat, or something like that. The taste is not gross at all but my ability to describe the taste is limited. I’m not so smart that way. I love this rye. I have been rationing a bottle for years since it inexplicably disappeared from NC. I very very much recommend this. Gold standard for old rye in my opinion.120.0 USD per Bottle
