Tastes

I had high expectations on this one. The last time I had expectations this high, Talisker 10 Years was not prone to beat my expectations. But this time, I come out very happy of this tasting. Lagavulin is, without a doubt, the most smoky whisky I've ever had. It's rich in flavor, you can feel some caramel in it if you let it stay in your mouth. The mouthfeel is great because when in mouth, it behaves one way, but when you swallow, you get a totally different sensation of fullness, richness and 'roundness', I guess. It's totally different than anything I've ever tasted, it develops awesomely in mouith and you start to get your mouth watery in order to have more. This is just great.

This was, by far, the best scotch I've ever had. It's rather true that I haven't had many but as a regular drinker of Chivas, this came to me as a big surprise. I hope to have it again in a near future to be able to write more about it

This is basically my first outsider whisky inside the mainstream options. It's by far better than my expectations. It's smoother than anything I've tasted before, fruity, woody, I think I can even feel the taste of the barrel. This is great.
