I'm giving it a three, but depending on my moods it can merit a four. It's quite complex. Very nutty on the nose, with fruit cake and almonds being predominant. The palate is spicy and tropical, with banana and orange surfacing on the tongue. The finish is winy, obviously from the port influence, and fairly long. I think my issue with this expression is by how unbalanced it can all seem at times. It's unruly. Still, worth exploring.

It's a tragedy this whisky is so difficult to come by, because the liquid is delicious. There's honey and heather, with touches of almonds and wood spices. It's delicate yet complex, and it makes a great single malt. If you can get your hands on this, I recommend you do. And add the Dailuaine 16 to your cart while you're at it.

Glenlivet Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 8, 2018 (edited September 10, 2020)WOW and OMG, with a subtle peat reminiscent of a Springbank. Rumour has it this whisky was aged in Laphroaig casks. There's more salt than smoke here, with honey and baked apples on the nose and palate. Pretty much perfect. -
Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso (Travel Retail)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 8, 2018 (edited July 25, 2018)Shy short of getting a full 5 stars, this is fantastic stuff. Like truly fantastic. Nutmeg, sultana raisins and prunes, with dark chocolate on the finish. Love it!
