I don't actually get the hype here, though I will agree that it's a good whisky. Think spicy pickles and dill juice with an alcoholic punch. It's good.

It's perplexing and mercurial, being both sweet and smoky - think of salted fish, barbecue sauce and a cigar... all in one sitting. It's absolutely delicious!

Nose: toasted barley and hay, like flowers after a rain pour. Palate: salty and very floral. Great finish and the most botanical Islay whisky I've ever had. Delicious.

Less fruity than the Origine, and less flavourful, though it has much more caramel on the nose. The palate is outright terrible, and to be avoided, with bitterness on the finish. At best I'd use this as a perfume.

Much better nose than palate, with notes of dried fruit. There's a touch of salt and smoke as well. The overall impression is that this is an immature whisky, and the short finish doesn't help. Not my sort of thing, but overall ok.

Now that's magical! If I factor in the price, it's a solid four stars because this ain't work $1600 CAD. Sherry on the nose and almost winy like a vermouth, with a velvety texture on the tongue. The palate is not woodsy, but there are wood spices and ginger. Pleasant bitterness on the finish with a touch of orange rind and oak making an appearance 30 seconds in. Extremely complex and fantastic!

Excellent whisky, but I was surprised by the amount of sherry notes - only hints, truthfully, but still there. It's honey and floral on the nose. Quintessential highland, with green apples on the palate. Solid and long finish.

Some apple and malted barley on the nose, with caramel and nutmeg on the palate. There's a touch of dark chocolate on the back of the palate. The finish and body are short and weak. Not very good.

I could have given this a five star - it's a fabulous expression. Subtle sweetness on the nose with a very delicate floral bouquet. There's a touch of pear on the palate, with oak on the finish; sherry is barely an influence. Very good stuff.

The low ABV really hurts this bourbon, as it lacks depth or length. Despite that, it's pleasant, with notes of chatted oak, cherry and vanilla.
