WhistlePig The Boss Hog IV: The Black Prince
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Vermont), USA
Reviewed November 2, 2019 (edited February 10, 2020)This is a amazing tasting rye and is it worth the 499.00 price tag no but I was able to trade up and get this beautiful dram. Here is my review that on my Facebook Group I run call What it’s titled “Whiskey 🥃 Grilling Time Review!” “WHISTLEPIG THE BOSS HOG IV: THE BLACK PRINCE REVIEW!” Best of Show San Francisco World Spirits Competition 17’ Taste Note: "The nose reveals warming spices, with cinnamon, oak, rye bread, and spearmint. The palate slowly starts spicy, delivering the potent punch of its high proof. What follows is brown sugar and crème brûlée, with a medicinal and herbal organic taste, almost savory, background with a hint of smoke. A dash or two of water tames the beast and delivers more of its vanilla sweetness. This is a finish is long, with char, spicy oak, and vanilla." This hit all the points of a G.O.A.T. whiskey 🥃 “A full belly, a heavy hog, and a light of luck!” Cheers!499.0 USD per BottleConnected Wireless, Inc. -

Taste Notes by “Whiskey Grilling Time!” (Facebook review Group) Nose: Very complex and lingers. Cedar cigar-box and exotic woods are that weird floral note. Front: The smoke and peat accents. A sherry influence is layered into the blend and if you wait long enough, soy sauce, celery and other umami components are part of the drift . Back/Finish: Kampi! This dances across all taste buds with cloves, cinnamon and orange zest seasoned by sea salt . A walnut cigar in the nose is present and accompanies whole experience and than extends finish. A very rich blend that lingers for days." “May the Lord love us but not call us too soon. May virtue and truth guide you in youth, good whisk(e)y, and cheers your old age!” 😎65.0 USD per BottleOgden

Reviewed June 4, 2019 (edited November 19, 2019)“Whiskey 🥃 Grilling Time Review!” The Peat Monster by Compass Box ABV: 46% No age statement Blend see picture Appearance: Very light yellow, nearly colorless like champagne. Strong legs. Nose: Right of the bat I get the smell dock of the harbor sea, sweat and hard working dock workers coming through, old leather, pipe tobacco, and smoke fish Opens up in the glass to reveal perfect balance of savory and sweet. Front: Sweet smoke bacon, spicy, warm, and peaty harbor scent is o the taste. Sea salt, nougat, light tobacco smoke, vanilla bean. Back/Finish: Oily and soft mouthfeel. That lingers and continues with sweet fishermen’s pipe smoke finish. Not overpowering in the burn. The peat takes center stage throughout the length of the finish. Whiskey 🥃 Grilling Time! Review Ironroot Hubris Straight Corn 🌽 Whiskey Aged 29 months ABV% 58.9 Mash: 100% Corn Distiller Ironroot Republic (Deniston, Texas) This whiskey is making this distillery famous - a straight, complex 100% corn whiskey with loads of flavour. It has won best corn whisky awards in addition to others - not the typical unaged or barely aged corn spirit called "corn whiskey" (there are no regulations around aging corn whiskey in the USA). Nose: Grape, bubblegum, spices, cinnamon, oak, fresh pizza dough, celery, and an oily richness. Front: Right off the bat there is a sweet, full of candy-fruity notes (pear, candy grape) and finishing with oak and porridge. Back/Finish: Balanced with the complex fruit character. It’s a delicate balance – the youth is no were to be found the deep oak wonderfully shows the interesting distillate. The finish has some heat oak. The complexity blooms when water is added, but it is nice, big, and rich at cask strength. Right now this is the best American corn whisk(e)y I’ve ever had to date. Damn good! Yippee Ki Ya beautiful people!52.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More
