Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 30, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)White fruits, wine grapes, vanilla, and lemon on the nose. Citrus fruits, lemon meringue, and dry white wine on the tongue. Warming, creamy, dry, and spicy. Long finish that is cloyingly sweet and lingers. 86/100. -
Nose is full-bodied, rich, and balanced. Allspice, orange peel, vanilla, and oak. Nothing overpowers anything else and all notes get their turn. The taste is hot and spicy at the beginning with a heavy mouthfeel. Orange peel, sugar, honey, and charred oak toward the middle. Finish lingers on and on. Water tames the nose a little and brings forth cinnamon, but muddles and dilutes the taste. 93/100.
