Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 31, 2018Smells like candy and wine. Apparently that’s sherry says my friend. Some pepper in the smell too. Damn that’s sweet. Wait there’s some spice too but it’s all this sweet pepper corn flavor. Tiny bit of burnt wood on the finish and some warmth in my chest like from a bourbon too. This is nice. -
Highland Park 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed August 31, 2018 (edited September 3, 2018)Smells like scotch should... with a hint of extra vanilla. The first taste is almost fruity with some peat smoke on the finish. It’s so smooth, how can it be so smooth? It’s like fast flowing river water with a kick and what used to be peat smoke on the second sip became burnt oak. This is a wonderful surprise! There’s a sweetness at the start with a long, slow, smooth, somewhat burnt finish. I think it’s excellent. -
Smells like fruit, pears and vanilla extract. Tastes like rubbing alcohol with some oily sweetness like a white wine in there on the finish. It’s very clean for a whiskey without many of the tastes I usually get. Second sip I get orange zest and some weird dark chocolates. Not bad. Smells better than it tastes and it was a gift so I don’t know what it cost, can’t me much it came with two branded glasses.

Starts with a smell of burnt sugar/caramel. The initial taste is mostly smooth with a lot of cinnamon/cloves. There’s some candied cherries in there too, with something like a Granny Smith apple taste too. Then it goes all burnt wood flavor on the finish - for me. Try it yourself. Got it for under $30 and it’s a good, solid buy at that price. Would drink again.27.99 USD per Bottle
