Nose: cinnamon red hot candy shell for days. This smells like when you open that cinnamon red hot box at the movies. I love it. So much nostalgia. Palate: caramel, vanilla, brown sugar cinnamon candies. Finish: long tongue coating. Moves down in to the chest for a Kentucky hug. Overall: 4.24/5 stars. Excellent pour. One of the easiest drinking bookers I’ve had.

Nose: super tobacco rich nose. Complements of leather and caramel. Very earthy and herbal. It’s that earthy funk that is pleasant. Like old Leather chairs, a nice cigar or plowed garden soil. Palate: tobacco, barrel spice, caramel and brown sugar. Notes of coffee and bit of chocolate. This is really tasty. Finish: long lingering finish on the tongue. Mouth coating. It Doesn’t give you that Kentucky hug in the chest. I’m partial to the hug lol. Overall: 4.5/5 stars. If you’re fan of single malt whiskey it’s all here. This is delicious and the color is the rich dark amber. Almost like sap. I dig this pour. This bottle would bat 4th in a lot of lineups. Pure hitter.

Palate: rye spices with a herbal finish. I’m a bit disappointed since uncut and unfiltered is such a good pour. This is a more herbal earthy rye. If a sweet spicy rye is your jam this isn’t that.

Nose: I get honey and baking spices up front. Followed by brown sugar and caramel. Palate: a slight honey note, rye spice turned way up. Black pepper, touch of fennel Finish: long lasting Overall: this is a terrific rye. It’s spice, earth and sweet. It’s very vicious and mouth coating. Whatever they are doing at this distillery in the desert it’s working. This is delicious.

Nose: dark fruits heavy on the nose. Baking spices and vanilla. Some cinnamon and clove. Smells like the holidays. Palate: the white port come through. It’s a bit drying on the tongue. Rye spices compliment and give a balance to mid palate. A touch of sweetness and wine tannins. Finish: lingers on the tongue. I get some figs on the back end. Overall: 4/5 stars. It’s a great pour. I prefer the regular MWND port offering. The white port is a bit different. It’s still a very good pour it’s just different for the usual MWND.

Nose: classic bourbon nose some leather, a bit of barrel spice, some vanilla and brown sugar. Palate: flavor bomb. Sweet notes of Tobacco, brown butter and caramel. It’s really fantastic. Full on mouth coat. Finish: longest Kentucky hug I’ve had in a while. This is a deep cold weather whiskey. Warming to the toes. 15 yr old beam juice and it doesn’t disappoint. I’m a instant fan. 4.2/5 stars

Tobacco, brown sugar nose. Vanilla, Caramel and more tobacco on the palate. The finish isn’t great and is over pretty quickly. 3/5 stars for me. A solid pour

Nose: earthy in a good way. Like tobacco, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar and I get a candy hard shell like those caramel hard candies. Palate: a bit of coffee, slightly grassy which I often don’t like. It’s subtle here. A lot of Texas whiskey I find had that barn yard grassy funk in it that overwhelming. Definitely tobacco as well. This is pretty tasty Finish: lingers on the tongue and end with some sweet notes. Overall: for me it’s a 4.3/5 stars. This is stellar. As a native Texan I’m often disappointed in Texas dram. It’s often hay forward and leave this “funky” after taste. I’ve tried all the balcones and disliked them all however I was told the high plains malt is exceptionally good. It’s definitely a excellent pour.

Nose: apples, pears, apricots Palate: fruit with Carmel and vanilla. Seriously outstanding Finish: makes your whole mouth taste amazing. 4.75/5 stars. We traveled two hours to grab this bottle from a store around charlotte Nc. Totally worth the drive.

Nose: caramel and vanilla bomb Palate: sweet and slightly spicy. Finish: short and fades quickly. Overall: 3.5/5 I’m a bit disappointed with this rye offering since I’ve had other J Mattingly ryes that were outrageously amazing
