Barrell Bourbon Private Select release
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed September 16, 2022 (edited September 17, 2022)This is a Barrel bourbon private select blend# C14C bottle #188. It’s a blend of 5yr, 7yr, 10yr and 17 yr whiskey. Nose: orange zest, Caramel and brown sugar Palate: vanilla, tobacco, hint of orange peel, lost of barrel spice. She’s a spicy girl. Finish: long lingering Kentucky huh deep in the chest. This is a cold night low fire whiskey. That linger is serious. Spicy!!!! Overall: 4/5 stars. Had the sweetness upfront and then it’s a bull ride of a finish. This is one of those pours where you know your Fri king serious whiskey. -
Nose: oak and brown sugar Palate: taste a bit young but that’s not bad in this case. I get oak and vanilla and some tobacco. It’s solid. Finish: at 104 proof it had a bit of a hug. It linger on your tongue rather than that deep chest hug love that you get from higher proofs. Overall: it’s a solid pour. For me it’s not as good as their batch 6 cask strength or their Texas select toasted barrel. This is a solid pour. 3.6/5 stars. Glad I found a bottle.

Reviewed July 19, 2022 (edited July 20, 2022)Nose: off a fresh crack I got a very muted profile. I let it sit and just got brown sugar. Palate: this is where this dram shines. Tobacco, leather, vanilla and cinnamon candy shell. It’s 58.7 proof and drinks like 90 proof. Outstanding Finish: slight Kentucky hug. Lingers shortly and then it’s gone.
