Casamigos Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Highlands, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed December 25, 2017 (edited March 2, 2018)Sweet, roasted agave in the nose. Easy to breathe in deep. Still plenty of bright, brassy notes to compliment the deep ones. Oak comes through first, followed by a nice sweetness at the end. Vanilla blends with grass in the mid palette. This goes down like pancake syrup. Wonderfully mellow and yet still really alive. -
Nose is a little harsh, mainly alcohol with a light tang and general rum like aroma. Flavor has some sharp woody edges, dry, bitter oak, tangy middle note, thin body with a little pancake syrup on the finish. Sugar added? No vanilla or raisin, no maple or butterscotch. This is workmanlike. Not overly rich or flavorful. Inoffensive but not standout.
