Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed May 10, 2020 (edited January 26, 2021)This is a strong, warm sherry blast. On the nose, sherry. On the palate dark fruits and intense spices. The finish is a long lingering warmth. I used a little water and it made the drink so much enjoyable. I enjoy the 21 better. -
I read various review about Zaya, so during the Holidays, I purchased a bottle of Zaya 16. My expectations were to be something similar to Diplomatico Gran Reserva, but what I got was a mouth full of spices, and tart. I tried on ice, and not much improvement. Some of my friends liked it, but I guess this one is not for me. I left it with my friend to enjoy.

I like the bottle and the tradition of Bacardi rums. This Gran Reserva Limitada was in my inventory for a while before I opened, expecting a smooth experience. I was a little disappointed. The aroma is strong and the color is rich and dark. But for the price, of nearly $100, there are more options out there, especially if you are looking for a sweet experience. The Zacapa Solera 23 is a great option.

Appleton Estate 21 Year Limited Edition
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed May 9, 2020 (edited May 11, 2020)AE 21 is one of my preferred and most liked rums. I appreciate the regulations in Jamaica to bring a pure rum. Dark chocolate, leather and sweet smooth drink. The finish is superb. A little pricey, but very available.
