Tastes

Nose of vanilla, rye, oak, cardboard, apple. Tastes semi-sweet, very light as to spice, cardboard, vanilla, charred wood. Finishes fairly long, with more rye showing that previously.

Nose of bourbon barrel and some graham cracker, vanilla and orange peel. Very smooth, a bit muted. There’s bourbon barrel and touches of sherry and vanilla on the palate. Just a bit of charred oak at the finish. Not bad, but sort of boring.

Nose peat, campfire, peat, vanilla, green herbs, sherry, strawberry. Smooth and smoky on the palate, peat, caramel, char, vanilla, tar. Medium finish.

Nose heavy caramel, with butterscotch, soft leather, citrus, cake, green apple. Soft and sweet on the palate, vanilla, leather, caramel, cake.

Nose of honey, apple, oak, toasted vanilla, nuts. Palate rich and sweet, barrel spice, Red Hots, vanilla. Lengthy finish.

Nose oak, caramel, wheat, vanilla, orange, black pepper. Palate orange, pepper, cinnamon, paper, toast, apple.

Nose of pear, cardboard, charred wood, vanilla, grape. Palate hot and musty; cinnamon, char, black pepper, oak. Long spicy finish.

Nose of oak, caramel, chocolate, hazelnut. Smooth on the palate, with caramel, hazelnut, vanilla, barrel char, coffee, cherry. Medium finish of barrel spice and char. Quite an easy drinker, but still pretty potent. Love it.

Nose of Red Hots, wheat, oak, charcoal, burnt caramel, vanilla, green herbs and soy sauce. Palate very smooth, oak, char, wheat, vanilla, black pepper. Long spicy peppery finish. This is more interesting, more complex, and better than the 20 year. I only mention this as a comment on the hype that surrounds these things. @twostal
