I bought a plastic bottle of this for mixing at a pool party, so expectations are low starting out. It smells like grain alcohol with a small trace of cane and a touch of citrus peel. Taste is more like a slightly sweetened harsh vodka than a rum, but there are rum flavors. Though not awful , this is as expected, nothing more than a mixer.

Floral, spicy, chamomile, aromatic wood, mint, orange peel, gin, basil, any number of botanicals that personally I can’t identify, a little umami. Bitter, minty, spicy, woody taste with cinnamon. My first fernet, so I don’t have a basis for comparison, but this is very complex and interesting. Sort of thick on the palate.
