Tastes

Wood, smoke, agave, cucumber, white pepper, melon, a hint of licorice, and finally, after a long sit, caramel, vanilla and aromatic wood that I can’t quite place. Smoky, peppery, woody taste. A little thin, and finishing somewhat abruptly, but fine neat and good for a cocktail.

Agave, pepper, grapefruit, orange peel, charcoal and a whiff of smoke. Sweet and quite smooth. A pleasant surprise, given that the goal here was to just buy something cheap to make quantity margaritas for a party.

Crystal clear. Aroma of agave (sotol, obviously, but this actually smells like tequila), wood smoke, cedar, earth, pepper and finally a bit of orange. A little sweet, evergreen, spicy, peppery and slightly smoky. Smooth and complex. Lucky find as the distillery was handing out samples at Total Wine. Per the label it appears this may be a one time release, but I hope not.
