George Dickel No. 12
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 8, 2016 (edited March 10, 2018)Very ok-ish budget whiskey. The nose is nutty, butter, cherry, vanilla, alcohol.... Palate is sweet corn, lots of oak, black pepper, nutmeg....finish is charred/burned wood, and sugar. Long lingering alcohol burn.... thin mouth feel. ...... I wouldn't buy a bottle. Also, it's number 12 not to be confused with 12 yr/old .....it's between 8-10 years old. -
Corsair Triple Smoke American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 29, 2016 (edited May 8, 2016)Took a tour of the distillery today. This is a killer whiskey....well balanced...still tastes a little young to me. I'd like to taste it barreled for a few more years but it's still delicious . The nose is sweet, peach, raisin, banana and plum. The palette is smokey with a distant peat, marshmallow, chocolate, clove and cherry. It finishes warm, smooth, and smokey with a touch of licorice and vanilla. Imagine a sweet Kentucky bourbon had a baby with an islay Scotch! -
SMOKE SMOKE SMOKE! Complex nose with hints of smoke, leather and earth. A dense oily smoke then coats the mouth with touches of sea air/seaweed, iodine, cigar tobacco and light dried fruits. The finish is full warm and satisfying leading to a lingering huge smokey aftertaste that just won't quit. This is a dram that will stay with you. One of my new favorites!!!!

Glenlivet 21 Year Archive
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 13, 2016 (edited June 15, 2016)Love at first sniff. This dram is smooth, smooth, smooth and definitely a drinker! Perfectly balanced however not to incredibly complex. The nose is sweet vanilla and inviting, the palette is mildly sweet with a touch of spice, smoke, and vanilla, the finish is beautifully smooth and keeps you coming back for more. -
Not so sure about this one while sipping my first dram. Revisited the next day and was surprised how much I LOVED it. It's continued to grow on me and is certainly in my top 5. Lightly salted sea air and earthy/rocky nose....the palette is smooth but peppery a little smoke, peat, and earth....the finish is HUGE, LONG, and WARM again the pepper but a big hit this time.
