Sweet scent of candied red apple and melted caramel followed by hints of cinnamon and jalapeño. On the palate, a rich textured bourbon with tastes of cherry, oak, burnt sugar and cayenne.

Cinnamon, cherry and peppermint hit the nose upfront. There seems to be more behind the initial scents but they are difficult to decipher. This bourbon has a velvety texture to it. It tastes of a high rye mash bill; very spicy with an assortment of peppers, white, black, and cayenne with a slight vanilla hint on the finish.

Smell of pears, white grapes, and an assortment of citrus fruits and vanilla. Sweet grain, honey and oatmeal lead the taste. A finish of white pepper with a smoothness close out a delightful whisky.

On the nose, a potent sugary vanilla, cherry, oak and an array of spices. On the palate, baked bread, chocolate, paprika, burnt bark and cayenne pepper.

Unfortunately, the most disappointing whiskey from Smooth Ambler. On the nose caramel, vanilla and alcohol. On the palate a bitter burnt oak and not much more

On the nose, candied apple, cinnamon, brown sugar and molasses. On the palate, caramelized sugar, vanilla and a light red pepper flake finish. The oak in this bourbon takes a back seat to its sweet and aromatic profile. Very tasty!

The scent of vegetal peat leads the way; moist leaves and top soil. A bit of iodine is apparent followed by a light apple juice aroma. The sea influence is present on the smell, it’s briney with touches of seaweed. The taste is meaty, with a liquid smoke bbq flavor and honey. A hint of pear is hidden in there with a strong peppery finish on the end. Everything you would expect from a powerhouse Islay.

On the nose, a peated smoke up front with hints of honey, caramel and pomegranate. On the palate, a rich texture of chocolate, raspberry and brine with a creamy vegetal smoke finish texture.

On the nose, vanilla icing, creme brûlée, cinnamon, cherry and spice. On the palate, ripe fruit, French vanilla ice cream with cracked black pepper and a smooth buttery texture. As good as bourbon gets!
