Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed January 31, 2022 (edited March 6, 2022)The smell is like opening a box of Honey Bunches of Oats. Those clustered oats, grain and honey are front and center.. As it settles some vanilla notes emerge. An exceptionally silky mouth feel. Tastes of pears, peaches, honey, whip cream and limestone. Smooth finish. -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 14, 2021 (edited October 17, 2021)Been tracking this great white whale for a while. On the nose, fresh baked cinnamon rolls, caramel, toffee and orange marmalade. There is an oak note present but it’s not a torched wood scent you pick up from most single barrel bourbons. There is a strong but pleasant taste of leather on the front end followed by vanilla, coffee beans and cayenne pepper. Good stuff. -
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 27, 2021 (edited October 16, 2021)This bourbon smells so sweet even Pooh Bear would think it’s honey. Upon first pour, the caramel and honey sweetness launch from the glass. A rich bouquet of red apples, cherries, vanilla and cinnamon emerge as the whiskey opens up. The taste is mild compared to the nose and the bourbons mahogany complexion. It’s a drier drink with notes of dusted peanut shells, toasted oak, leather and baked apples. The finish is crisp and longer than expected for a 90 proof. An after bite is non-existent. This is a well aged wheated bourbon and AN ABSOLUTE STUNNER at under $30.28.0 USD per Bottle -
A lot of hype surrounding this one. First impression, it has nice legs in the glass. It smells well balanced. Nothing overpowering the other. Vanilla, limestone, additional minerals I can’t quite hammer down specifically, and a slight hint of cherry. The taste is bland. Again, it’s all well balanced. It’s difficult to pick out specific flavors because everything is neatly stacked and overlapping one another. The oak and dried wood dust notes are there. Not very sweet or fruity. It’s dry. Very smooth and an easy drink to enjoy. I believe new bourbon drinkers would find this delightful. I was able to snag this for $30 which is fair and where it belongs instead of the outrageous price tags I’ve seen on this bottle elsewhere. It’s a good mid-level bourbon.30.0 USD per Bottle

1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 30, 2021 (edited August 26, 2021)If Formula One petrol was a whisky than this stuff is it! High Octane from the starting line. Loads of flavor hidden behind a hearty punch of spicy fire. With that said this stuff on ice is an ideal summer bourbon. A perfect way to enjoy a whiskey in the heat without holding a glass of diluted water. Rich hits of chocolate and berries on the nose. The taste is vanilla, plums, charred wood and a siracha spice.48.0 USD per Bottle -
This is a delightful spirit. Full of character. Yes, every “single barrel” is unique but the one I enjoyed was great. A rich aroma that you could sense was full bodied and oily just from the smell. Cloves, vanilla, toasted butterscotch, and red fruits. The taste left nothing short on approach from its aroma. French vanilla ice cream sweetness, caramel, candied apple and a cinnamon paprika finish that produced an ideal amount of spice.45.0 USD per Bottle

Such a nice change of gear. The aroma is vibrant, bright and airy. Hints of lemon, honeysuckle and pear all wrapped in a toasted grain cereal. After it breathes a bit a ripe Granny Smith apple scent emerges. It’s light on the palate. A mineral taste like that of a river stone, followed by vanilla and lavender. Silky texture. This whiskey is so refined and elegant it might read a damn poem to you. A fantastic dram to recalibrate the taste buds.

Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 8, 2021 (edited February 1, 2021)The nose on this whiskey is well-balanced. It’s layered seamlessly. Sweet cherries, vanilla, salted Jerkey, cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes. The smells shockingly don’t push one another out of the way. None is overpowering and if you go back to search for a previous aroma it’s easy to find. It has an oily body. Caramel, French vanilla and funnel cake on the taste with a late oak and pepper kick that settles in the chest.45.0 USD per Bottle -
This is tough to beat for an Irish offering. It has sherry overtones at the forefront. A lot of dried red fruits on the nose, subtle oak and buttered toast. Honey oat, caramel, paprika, cloves and white pepper spice on the palate. It’s well- balanced, rich and most importantly delicate. This whiskey is pretentious with a gritty edge. A crowd pleaser for all levels of whiskey appreciators.65.0 USD per Bottle
