It’s harsh out of the bottle and thankfully water takes this beast and brings a sweetness to the normal bourbon caramel, vanilla and oak flavours. However, there is a complexity that gives you different flavours with each swill.

This is a Glenmorangie for sure. Light and fruity. It will lull you into sipping away half the bottle. So delicious.

Extremely smooth and rich. An abundance of smoke did not overwhelm a sweetness or the soft spice finish.

Having read the notes and knowing it is a heavily prayed scotch was caught of guard with the first expression being a solid chocolate and dark cherry. The smoke came on the exhale and was delicious. This was the best scotch I have ever tried.

Soft gentle flavours, low smoke, low peat. Gentle sweetness. Great entry level scotch yet has subtle complexities.

Took me awhile to attribute the sweetness and spice to orange peel and ginger. Once that takes place this liquid makes sense. Then the palate can explore flavours of honey, bananas, dark fruits and other spices.

The lower proof allows for the citrus (orange peel) come forward first. Then arrives a great caramel and toasted notes. For the price make this an everyday glass

Fruit forward. Taste of peach syrup on the lips ending in a rich creamy spice or the tongue. However the slight oak finish makes one demand one more sip.

Of all the bourbons - for the price - this is the quintessential bourbon. Yup you can buy more expensive bourbons but they all have variations of caramel, vanilla and levels of oak. Each will be sweet or sweeter. This one for the price nailed what bourbons should be. Unless you wish to go down a rabbit hole stick with this one.

Sadly did not care for this one. Very sweet. Not well balanced. Just sweetness.
