Black Tot Finest Caribbean
Navy Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed June 30, 2023 (edited August 11, 2023)This is quite the blend; 35% from 5 year old Barbados pot still and column still rums, 40% from Guyanese Demerara rum aged between 3-5 years, 20% from Guyanese unaged rum (both Guyanese rums are from a combo of pot and column stills) and 5% from a funky pot still Jamaican rum. No additional aging… It’s copper colored and after a swirl, it leaves a nice ring around my glass with legs slowly dropping back to the bottom of my glass. Mmmm the smell… molasses, tropical fruits, bananas, spices. There’s nothing overwhelming and there’s no astringency. It is a bit musty, maybe from the Jamaican rum. It tastes amazing and very creamy and warm. That’s the first thing I notice. Then the flavors kick in; chocolate, banana, all spice, coffee. There’s a lot going on here. It’s flavorful, but not too complex. It’s smooth! The mouthfeel is rich, creamy and warm. The finish is kind of dry and bananas sit in the back of your throat at the end. Overall, this is fantastic. If you see it on the shelf, grab it -
The color is bright red. Orange and spice on the nose. It’s very bitter and herbal on the palate. And then you get the sweet. It’s kind of warm and dry and the spices stay with you for a little bit. Overall, I love Campari, just not neat. It’s a fantastic complement in a number of classic cocktails like the Negroni, Americano, and Boulevardier. And it adds so much too many others also. It’s even enjoyable over ice with soda and a citrus wedge. I think everyone should have a bottle of Campari on their shelf31.99 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits

Made with 100% pure agave and that’s what you want when drinking tequila. It’s crystal clear w a lot of viscosity. There are obvious agave notes on the nose w some other fruit, like pear or melon or something and oddly, soap. Interesting! Maybe it’s my glass. I get agave on the palate also. It’s creamy w a little welcomed heat. The agave stays with you for a little while and it’s pretty damn smooth. Overall, this is a perfect value priced blanco tequila for your margaritas and palomas. And it’s great chilled for shots too. But, don’t just put the bottle in the freezer and pour it in a glass. I like to shake it up real good with ice and then strain it into a glass so it’s a little deluded and really cold. Yeah! Am I going to sip this? Probably not. For sipping, I get a smoky, aged tequila. But for shots and cocktails that call for blanco tequila, I highly recommend this bottle24.99 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits

Bright yellow in color with thick legs and nice clarity. Herbal spices, lemon and licorice on the nose. It’s creamy and sweet with some intensity on the tongue. A little bitter. I’m getting lemon, anise, mint and juniper flavors. It’s very comlex but balanced. Overall, it’s interesting and versatile. I enjoyed it neat, chilled, on the rocks and in an Autumn Leaves cocktail with rye whiskey, apple brandy, sweet vermouth and cinnamon tincture.
