Grangestone Sherry Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandReviewed September 17, 2021I get sherry but not a lot else. No complexity. Wouldn’t buy a bottle but would have a drink of it if given to me.
Chivas Regal 12 Year
Peated Blend — ScotlandReviewed September 17, 2021Easy drinker
Caol Ila 12 Years
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed September 17, 2021This would be a great introduction to an Islay scotch. The peat smoke is there but it’s well balanced with sea salt and melon.Mike's Wine & Spirits
Tyrconnell 10 Year Madeira Cask Finish
Single Malt — IrelandReviewed September 13, 2021Honey covered dark fruits sprinkled with cinnamon. So easy to drink. Will keep this on hand all the time if I can find it.Gomer's Midtown
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed September 11, 2021 (edited September 28, 2021)Such an easy drinker for 100 proof. The barrel flavors of vanilla and caramel are very present but you also get nuts roasted with brown sugar. Definitely one of my favorite bourbons.
W.L. Weller Special Reserve (Old Label)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed September 11, 2021Very easy to drink. Tons of vanilla and caramel from the barrel. Haven’t had the latest versions but I’d recommend trying the older bottling if you can.
Redbreast 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Pot Still — IrelandReviewed September 10, 2021 (edited November 26, 2021)Redbreast 12 is one of my favorites and this just turns it up to 11. The barrel really adds something to this leaving a little funk behind and even at cask strength it’s so easy to drink. A little tobacco mixed with apples and pears.
Kilbeggan Single Grain
Single Grain — IrelandReviewed September 10, 2021A little bit of heat compared to most Irish Whiskys I have but then the nutmeg, cinnamon, and honey hit making it an easy finish. The feel is a little creamier as well because of the oats.Bubbles Wine & Spirits
GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 7
Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandReviewed September 9, 2021Not getting much on the nose but the flavor is toffee and cherries covered in chocolate. It has a long finish with a spicy nuttiness that was soaked in sherry.Gomer's Midtown
Dalwhinnie Winter's Frost (Game of Thrones-House Stark)
Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandReviewed September 9, 2021Slick feel to it with a little burn. Once you get past that there is apricot, orange, and cocoa dusted with a little pepper. Enjoyable.
