Early Times Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 1, 2020 (edited July 3, 2020)enjoying neat for the first time nose - vanilla, sugar, light heat, some oak/leather notes and light peanut smell Taste - As soon as it hits my tongue I get sugar, vanilla, and some peanut flavors. Roll around the tongue and get a great light and smooth heat. The finish is more vanilla and sugar mixed with a smooth warm burn. Quite good Overall and value - After trying this, I was overall very impressed especially for the money. This is a solid first pour from this bottle and the fact it was only $25. Sad to hear Early Times has been bought out and this one will be discontinued cause it is quite good. Huge bang for the buck here.25.0 USD per Bottle -
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 26, 2020 (edited November 9, 2020)2nd time review from my same bottle. Nose - Sweet, honey, fruits. Also get some orange that was suggested by a fellow drinker after he mentioned it. Taste - Honey up front with a lot of fruit. Think sweet fruits with sugary notes as well as honey and caramel. Finishes crisp with a light bite from the 107 proof that it is. Quite good and unique. Overall and value - Great for a 60 - 80$ bottle. Label is very cool and carries the "pappy" name brand. Secondary price there is just no way. If I am being honest based on my palate I would say this is a top 10 bourbon I have had being that it is so unique and comes with the wow factor that cannot be ignored, but at the same time I hate to say it that I have had bourbons from the 30 - 50$ range I enjoyed more. Nonetheless its a great pour and a great add-on to any bourbon drinker's collection.75.0 USD per Bottle -
Cooper's Mark Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Minnesota , USA
Reviewed June 24, 2020 (edited November 9, 2020)Trying this one again with another review Nose - light nose. Little bit of honey and vanilla. Taste - starts light, brings in some vanilla and honey notes. Finish is rather short with some spices and lightly hot finish. Nothing complex with this one at all, but the taste is really not bad. Overall and value - cheap bottle, cheap price, cheap looking label in my opinion. Bourbon is just so so, nothing complex at all but it’s not bad.20.0 USD per Bottle -
George Dickel 13 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2005)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 23, 2020Now on my 2nd bottle of this and wanted to review it for a 3rd time. Enjoying this one neat. Nose - instantly get peanuts again with sugar, caramel and heavy honey. Honey roasted peanuts anyone? Not quite. Taste - Starts light, rolls on the tongue and gets oily and full with a nice tongue coat. Honey up front and another sweet and sugary taste. Not getting near as much peanuts up front as I did the other bottle. The finish is a very very long and spicy end with a touch of bitterness, peanuts, pepper at the end. Medium long finish. Overall and value - good and unique, getting harder to find for reasonable price. So far not liking this bottle as much as the first.42.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 22, 2020 (edited September 26, 2020)2nd time review - trying neat Nose - a good mix of sweet and spicy. Very light bitter smell and maybe some oranges I’m picking up. Taste - starts nice light and oily then starts to coat the tongue and bring out some flavors. Nice sweet flavor of vanilla that starts to slowly turn into some cinnamon heat to it. Finish is rather short. Overall and value - good sweet and spicy bourbon. I wouldn’t call this anything really unique and complex to my palate but it is good for under 30$ range.30.0 USD per Bottle -
2nd time review enjoying neat Nose - sugar, sweetness, cherries, light oak smell. Taste - as soon as this hits the tongue it’s sweet. I get sugar immediately. Cherries and vanilla come to my palate as well as it coats my tongue. The finish is more sweetness and a deep sugar with some oak and a very slight burn of spice. Dang this is a good treat tasting bourbon. Overall and value - you cannot beat this bourbon if you like an easy drinker and something sweet. I personally love all aspects of this bourbon and it’s easily found under 30$. Adds a lot of value when it’s cheap and easy to find. Must buy for anyone who prefers a sweet bourbon25.0 USD per Bottle

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C919
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2020 (edited July 9, 2020)First time trying with a hint of water Nose - vanilla and spices. Pepper on the nose as well makes me think this will be quite spicy. Complex and heat to my nose Taste - can feel the heat as soon as it hits the tongue. Pretty complex but heat is the main word I would describe this one. Pepper, floral notes, vanilla and spicy notes throughout the palate and surprisingly finishes sweet and smooth. Overall and value - one of my first barrel proofs. I expected some heat but this one was almost too much for me. Very complex with all the flavors but I could do without all the up front heat on this one. I do like how this bottle is getting easier to find. 60$ range in my area and found a few places.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2020 (edited June 22, 2020)2nd time review Nose - vanilla, caramel, honey, very sweet nose and some leather and heat. Taste - this bourbon tastes just about how it smells which isn’t always the case. Very rich full and oily to begin. Starts sweet with the vanilla and caramel and maybe some honey. Finish is leather and a spice with some slight tongue burn in what I would describe as a medium long finish. Overall and value - I honestly love this bourbon. It’s great and best way to describe it is smooth and complex. For the 50-60$ price point and a very cool story, bottle, and topper you cannot go wrong. Paying secondary I would be a bit underwhelmed. I do hate how hard this bourbon is to find but it is very good.62.0 USD per Bottle -
Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2020 (edited July 28, 2020)Second time reviewing this one Nose - floral and spices. It’s complex but cannot quite grasp everything going on. Taste - full and rich immediately. As it rolls on the tongue I get some floral notes and spices. The finish is nice and long with light to medium heat with baking spices and more floral notes. Quite smooth for the proof. Overall and value - this is an excellent rye. Very drinkable and smooth considering the proof and only 4 years. Quite good but comes with a 50-60+ price tag and sometimes more. Very good nonetheless and a must have for anyone wanting a great rye.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Coming back for yet another pour and a review Nose - This go round has more ethanol burn than I remember. Once I get past some of the burn, I get a lot of honey and leather, plus some sugar and wheat. Taste - nice and a bit oily to the tongue. Honey hits me immediately. Rounds out to some floral notes and a hint of spices at the end. Not a bad taste at all whatsoever. Overall and value - Great well rounded bourbon for the sub 30 range when you can find it.30.0 USD per Bottle
