Transitions into some vanilla and honey flavoring. Ends with a fruity flavor along with a slight bitterness and tobacco with a light kick and heat to it. Overall well balanced. Overall - well balanced budget bourbon. What is there more to say about this one. All the good flavors are there. Its a great supper especially under 25$ range25.0 USD per Bottle -
Blanton's Straight From the Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2020 (edited March 9, 2021)2nd time tasting first time review. Put a half an ice cube in my glass. Nose - apples, apple pie, sugar, vanilla. Surprised there is almost no ethanol burn or heat on the nose. Taste - quite a bit going on here. Starts rather sweet and the longer it sets the sweeter it seems to get. There’s vanilla and apples up front. Some baking spices and raisins plus a full syrup feel to it. Ends with a decent amount of heat. Overall - another amazing bottle from blantons. A nice high proof full of flavor and a stellar nose. It is aggravating that a bourbon this good is so hard to find and so expensive. This is a must have for any bourbon lover, especially barrel proofs.180.0 USD per Bottle -
2nd time review same bottle tasting neat Nose - not a lot of say about the nose. Very light subtle notes. Some sweet notes of sugar, tobacco, and oak. Taste - starts sweet and light, quickly turns into spices, heat, tobacco, and smokiness. A bit tart. Much more heat to this one than I remember. Overall - hate to say I remember this one being better. It’s good but does not completely match my flavor profile and preferences. The smokiness is nice but the heavy spice and heat for this to be a low proof makes me shy away

Reviewing the same bottle this time with a single ice cube Nose - Corn, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and spices Taste - Quite complex start to finish. Rich and oily up front with a light sweet vanilla taste. Roll around the tongue to find some tobacco notes. The finish is medium with some more tobacco, vanilla, and some light cinnamon. The very end has a smoky note to it as well Overall - The water/ice cube really mellow out the heavy cinnamon I got on my previous taste and to me, this is one bourbon that really opens up and tastes better with a little water or ice. Really enjoying this pour more this go round. Well balanced with the sweet vs the heat.44.0 USD per Bottle

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 16, 2020 (edited July 24, 2020)2nd time reviewing the same bottle neat. nose - A lot of things typical of bourbon here. There is oak, cinnamon, sugar, cherries, and vanilla. Smells very sweet. taste - Oak and vanilla as soon as it hits my tongue, full and rich, then comes some oak, tobacco, and a heavy score of cinnamon. This rounds out to a medium long finish with a ton of cinnamon, spices, and lightly sweet (think the candy red hots sums this up). Overall and value - I hate to say it but for so many people to absolutely love this one, it is a bit on the spicy side to me and an overwhelming taste of cinnamon red hots. It is nice a complex but just is a decent pour to me. Going to try my next review on this one with an ice cube to see if it changes my mind any. When you can actually find this bottle it ranges from 40 - 60$ and is allocated. Comes with a nice looking bottle, fancy label with a nice large signature of EH taylor. Style points are there but the taste lacks to my palate.44.0 USD per Bottle -
Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 13, 2020 (edited July 17, 2020)Been a while since my last review on this bottle. Really let it open up some more and enjoying neat. Nose - vanilla, caramel, a light peanut smell. Taste - bitter, fruity and floral up front with raisins, nuts, and some of the vanilla and caramel sweetness that came from the nose. Very little spice on this pour. Overall and value - taste is better than I remember it being. Nose is pretty typical of bourbon. The bottle has tons of style points. Price point is the kicker available wide range from 40-60$. Paid 40 for this one and is a good drink at that price point, plus can’t ignore you get a great looking bottle40.0 USD per Bottle -
First time trying this one neat. Nose - spices and cinnamon. Smells spicy as I imagine it being with the higher proof Taste - heavy vanilla up front. The spiciness I get up front as well with tobacco, oak, more vanilla, and cinnamon. Finishes medium with a nice heat, some smoky notes and even more cinnamon. This one compares in taste to the 46 in my opinion just more proof and heat40.0 USD per Bottle

Finally reviewing this bottle. Nose - vanilla, orange, oak with a nice candy finish. Taste - vanilla and oak up front that transitions into some heat. The finish is long and spicy with more oak and a cinnamon candy like red hots. Overall and value- cool looking bottle, bright red wax wow factor, decent taste and decent nose. Found most places around 40$ range. Not bad at all but won’t rank up there with some of the other great bourbons available40.0 USD per Bottle

2nd time review from same bottle neat Nose - oak, cherries, sugar, leather, slightly fruity. Wow this bourbon smells so good. Taste - sweet and vanilla up front, very full very rich probably the richest bourbon I’ve ever tasted. There’s a lot going on here with cherries, vanilla, oak. The finish is more vanilla and oak with a very subtle spice to the tongue and a tad bit of Smokey flavor. Overall and value - I just love this bourbon. It’s complex as it gets. The nose is stellar the taste is great and smooth. It’s usually easily found around 50$ range but drinks like a 100$ bottle. A must have!50.0 USD per Bottle

Wilderness Trail Bottled in Bond Single Barrel Bourbon (Wheated Bourbon)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 4, 2020 (edited July 6, 2020)Got the last bit of a bottle at a 4th of July party. Nose - basic notes. Caramel, sweet notes and kind of bland. Taste - starts sweet and light. Start to get some heavy caramel and cherries then heavy pepper at the end and finish. Overall - I have had some great bottle in bond bourbons but this one let me down a bit. Nothing wrong with it just didn’t fit my palate profile.
