Peated Single Malt — Campbeltown, ScotlandReviewed November 11, 2023 (edited December 2, 2023)BIG flavors. As a fan of Islays, this is something that wil smack you with a huge flavor profile. Theres definitely peat but also sherry, dark fruits, oakiness, some chocolatey/coffee, some mineral flavors and a whiff of that notorious C-town funk. Absolutely fantastic!
Stranahan's Blue Peak
American Single Malt — Colorado, USAReviewed October 14, 2023Its a delcious american single malt. Chocate, oak, spice
West Cork Glengarriff Series Bog Oak Charred Cask Single Malt
Single Malt — IrelandReviewed October 8, 2023Really good flavor, it’s got a bit of peat, really oaky and a fruity sweetness that I can’t quite put my finger on. I think its like a citrusy/berry note. For $45, it’s definitely a banger! Irish peat is just different. It’s floral and herbal. Reminds me of that Orkney peat in highland park but it’s still different.45.0 USD per Bottle
Finlaggan Eilean Mòr
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed September 25, 2023Straightforward islay peat. Not super complex but as a budget peaty scotch, a bit hard to miss.23.0 USD per Bottle
Ancient Ancient Age 10 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed September 4, 2023Very sweet, a bit thin. Good for mixing or bbqing but not one for the glencairn.
McClelland's Single Malt Islay
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed July 26, 2023Punches pretty hard for a $32 islay at 80pf. Definitely one to keep around as a value priced islay.32.0 USD per Bottle
Slane Special Edition Extra Virgin Oak
Blended — IrelandReviewed July 3, 2023VERY bourbon cask forward. Strong with the caramel, vanilla and malt funk. Some sherry apparent. Different from the regular Slane release but at least as good.34.0 USD per Bottle
The Quiet Man 8 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — IrelandReviewed June 23, 2023Nose os very fruity with the typical malty funk. The taste brongs it back to buttery shortbread typical of Irish but theres orange marmalade and a dry sawdust note. Richer than youd expect a 80 pf whisky to be.37.0 USD per Bottle
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed May 29, 2023This is solid! Super oaky and fruity (lots of cherry/peach here) and a good bit of toasted marshmallow.
Kraken Black Roast Coffee Rum
Spiced Rum — USAReviewed May 1, 2023Good coffee and rum flavors but WAY too sweet for neat sipping. Add an ice cube and it gets better. This would be great in some black cold brew. Typical of most flavored liquors, the idea is there but just too damn sweet. I cut it roughly 50/50 with Kraken 94 over ice…still a bit sweet but this is what it always SHOULD have been.19.0 USD per Bottle
