Ancient Ancient Age 10 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed September 4, 2023Very sweet, a bit thin. Good for mixing or bbqing but not one for the glencairn.
McClelland's Single Malt Islay
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed July 26, 2023Punches pretty hard for a $32 islay at 80pf. Definitely one to keep around as a value priced islay.32.0 USD per Bottle
Slane Special Edition
Blended — IrelandReviewed July 3, 2023VERY bourbon cask forward. Strong with the caramel, vanilla and malt funk. Some sherry apparent. Different from the regular Slane release but at least as good.34.0 USD per Bottle
The Quiet Man 8 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — IrelandReviewed June 23, 2023Nose os very fruity with the typical malty funk. The taste brongs it back to buttery shortbread typical of Irish but theres orange marmalade and a dry sawdust note. Richer than youd expect a 80 pf whisky to be.37.0 USD per Bottle
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed May 29, 2023This is solid! Super oaky and fruity (lots of cherry/peach here) and a good bit of toasted marshmallow.
Kraken Black Roast Coffee Rum
Spiced Rum — USAReviewed May 1, 2023Good coffee and rum flavors but WAY too sweet for neat sipping. Add an ice cube and it gets better. This would be great in some black cold brew. Typical of most flavored liquors, the idea is there but just too damn sweet. I cut it roughly 50/50 with Kraken 94 over ice…still a bit sweet but this is what it always SHOULD have been.19.0 USD per Bottle
Mount Gay Eclipse Rum
Gold Rum — BarbadosReviewed April 30, 2023Fruity and oaky. Not sure its exactly sipping rum but it would do the job. Mixed into pineapple juice, it’s pretty tasty. A good solid addition to your bar.24.0 USD per Bottle
Knappogue Castle 12 Year Bourbon Cask Matured
Single Malt — IrelandReviewed April 14, 2023The nose is like honey on shortbread with a whiff of green apple. Taste is really similar, but more vanilla. This could easily pass as a bourbon casked Speyside scotch. Reminds me a lot of Glenlivet 12 but about $12 cheaper.40.0 USD per Bottle
Kilbeggan Blended Irish Whiskey
Blended — IrelandReviewed March 24, 2023I consider myself a Tullamore Dew man but damn if Kilbeggan doesn’t bring it. This is $20-$25 depending on sales in Oregon which makes it a budget whisky. But it’s quality stuff. Right down the home plate of Irish blends, it’s not reinventing the category (although Kilbeggan does have some offerings that are off the Irish path) but it’s just a good product at a good price. Cant argue with that!20.0 USD per Bottle
Dalwhinnie 15 Year
Peated Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandReviewed March 24, 2023 (edited June 25, 2023)Definitely honey and malt but I also get a distinct lemon zest on the nose and palate. No peat though. Very pleasant and delicious highland malt.
