Honey gold was the misleadingly sweet color in this, for lack of a better word, “whiskey.” And thin semi-viscous legs clung to then dribbled their way back down again. As far as the nose went, right off the bat you knew something was different. The main focus as I inhaled was intense oily smoke and polyurethane fumes. It’s like doing a house demo then burning all the trash instead of throwing it in a dumpster. There was something sweet hiding there, but needless to say, like a peasant in a Monty Python skit, it was being suppressed. The palate, if you can believe it, was worse than the smell! There was an oily mouthfeel and taste, and the only detectable notes I could pick up on was what I imagine wood varnish tasting like, a bitter cloying element, and an acidity that triggered my gag reflex. I literally shuttered when I drank this. The finish was harsh and too long as it was hard to sit through without afterwards taking a sip of water. Wow. I had no idea there would be a whiskey out there I would dislike as much as this. I literally could not finish one glass. I tried, multiple times on different days thinking different factors would cause me to look on it more favorably, but alas, no. Now, the only way I could recommend this whiskey would be as a joke, or a gift to someone you dislike. Otherwise, stay away! Peach Street, I really am not sure what you were going for, but I am really hoping your other products are better than this. Anyways, (with a new whiskey in glass) Cheers!

Jeptha Creed Four Grain Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 7, 2020 (edited February 26, 2022)This bourbon is a light copper color with very thin very viscous legs. The nose is young. It has notes of astringency, corn dust, wildflowers, and vanilla. The palate is young and harsh. Notes of burnt caramel, cheap vanilla frosting, NGS, and pine sap and fight for attention though none should be the leading lady. The finish is hot at first then dives into a short anticlimax. It’s a shame because everything about this bourbon seemed to bespeak excellence! A straight bourbon from Kentucky, a four grain mash bill, even the unique bottle was beautiful! However, this bourbon was a disappointment, I don’t recommend it. Sorry Jeptha Creed. Try again. Cheers! -
Polished brass is the color in this rye whiskey , and thin watery legs dribble down the glass. To me, the nose comes off young, with a curious funk. There are specific notes of sour fruit, moss, wet leaves, dry corn, sweet incense smoke, and wood cleaner. The palate is overall sour with a thin mouthfeel with notes of burnt caramel, granola cereal, Froot Loops dust, and oaky tannins. The thin finish is of medium length. Cheers!

This whiskey has a nice gold color with semi-thin oily legs. The nose comes off a bit young. There are notes present of caramel, grapes, and a grassiness; pretty simple. The mouthfeel is thin. And notes of red apple, alcohol, and honey predominate the simple palate. The finish is bitey and slightly sour and medium in length. Cheers!

This rye new make is quite clear with thin viscous legs. The nose is sweet and floral with notes of dandelion, ripe pineapple, mild rye spice, and pond algae. The palate is sweet and simple with notes of cherry, grapefruit, breakfast toast, and a tannic taste. The finish is tingling, mild, and of medium length. Cheers!

This scotch has a straw gold color with thin semi-viscous legs. The nose is simple but enjoyable with notes of peat, sweet smoke, sea salt, peanuts, lemon, and Smarties candy. The palate has a watery mouthfeel and is sweet with notes of salty peat, dry grass, caramel, green apple, and blackberry. The finish is of medium length and has a sweet candy taste to it. For being a budget friendly bottle, this scotch is really well rounded. It’s sweet, smokey, and really enjoyable. I approve! Thanks, Speyburn! Sláinte!40.0 USD per Bottle

291 E(xperimental) Colorado Whiskey Batch 6
Other Whiskey — Colorado , USA
Reviewed March 27, 2020 (edited December 11, 2022)This special edition whiskey is a dark rust orange hue with super thin oily legs clinging to the glass. The nose is fruity with notes of cherry, red grapes, pear, ripe peach, berries and cream, sweet vanilla frosting, Sour Skittles, and a mild note of potpourri/craft store. The palate is sweet and savory with a watery mouthfeel and notes of red apple, cherry, milk chocolate, salted caramel, and sweet pork chops. The finish is long, dry, and dusty with a note hinting of cherry pie. This whiskey is part of 291’s experimental series and it is delicious! It is batch number six, a barrel proof bourbon finished in peach and cherry wine barrels. It’s very fruity obviously while still keeping the standard 291 punch. It’s the best E I’ve had, though they’re all worth trying if you can. Cheers!110.0 USD per Bottle -
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters' Selection Barrel Proof Rye
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 25, 2020 (edited May 3, 2020)This special Tennessee rye has a dark copper color and thin watery legs. The nose is sweet and full, rich with notes of caramel apple, vanilla frosting, orange soda, robust maple syrup, syrupy cherry, overripe peach, dill, and black licorice. With a splash of water more floral and grassy notes rise up. The palate is punchy with notes of char, orchard fruit, dill pickle, spice cabinet herbs, graham crackers, and rye and barrel spice. With that splash of water a note of watermelon candy comes out as well as turning down the heat. The finish is like a trek through the desert: long, hot, and dry. This interpretation of Jack Daniel’s rye whiskey is good but it’s harsh too. Taking it down to a lower proof was a good move and I respect it. I’m glad I got to try it right out of the barrel, but I acknowledge some whiskeys are better when proofed down. Thanks Jack! Cheers! -
This Irish blend has thin viscous legs and a light clover honey color. The nose is soft and has notes of floral sweetness, warm summer rain, strawberry yogurt, dense dark fruit, chocolate, dead leaves, and dry hay. The palate has a creamy mouthfeel with notes of citrus, cantaloupe and watermelon, red apple, a slight graininess, honey, and white chocolate. The finish is sweet, of medium length, and leaves one wanting more. In a good way! I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this whiskey as much as I did, but it actually surprised me! I think this is an Irish whiskey that takes care of your pocket and is more complex than one would first suspect. It probably attributes to the three types of casks it’s aged in. Either way, thanks Slane! I’m a fan! Sláinte!2.0 USD per Pour
