Nose: The nose is full of smoke, oak, and corn with a note of pepper for seasoning. Taste: The taste has its corn and vanilla sweetness as should be expected but with the addition of heavy wood notes (which makes sense due to the nature of this bourbon) and Hot Tamales candy leaving behind an almost acidic / bitter aftertaste and finish with almost a grape skin tartness toward the end of the glass. Opinion: When you are a top name in your particular industry, the more (I would think) you would want to play it safe with your products. However, the creativity found in this whiskey has to be admired! Great work thinking outside the box, Jim Beam! So, it's not bad. It's not the best either though. It would probably make a solid mixer for a number of cocktails but it really wasn't my favorite dram to have neat. I love the creativity, but it's not a go-to for me. Cheers!0.99 USD per Pour

Nose: The nose is not to complex. There's the basic sweetness you get with bourbon: vanilla, honey, and corn namely with some maple syrup notes mixed in as well. Taste: The taste is good though not too complicated with corn obviously, maple syrup again with caramel and nuts. Finish is pretty short but doesn't burn you on the way out leaving you wanting another sip. Opinion: Sure it's not the greatest bourbon out there, but there is a reason Jim Beam is the world's largest name for bourbon. It's a great classic dram for the price, and I have nothing bad to say against it! They have been doing great things for a long time and Lord willing, they will continue to do so! Nose: The nose is sweet with corn but the higher alcohol content makes it a bit more punchy. Pine notes are present with some wildflowers and hay to compliment the aroma. Taste: At first sip one realizes this is a fighter of a bourbon. The high rye and alcohol content adds its spice to the mix making the sweetness well rounded and a bit more aggressive. Oaky notes with honey and caramel greet you warmly and the long grapefruit bitter and spicy finish send you home with a firm handshake. Opinion: This is a great bourbon that has some complexity to it and doesn't let you walk all over it. I took this bourbon camping with me once in a flask and it was a nice compliment to the fire and the starlit night! Cheers!22.0 USD per Bottle

Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 13, 2018 (edited October 7, 2018)Nose: If you could say beautiful was a smell, this would be the smell of beauty for a whisky. Heavy oak and leather notes remind me of a rustic cabin. Various fruit noted like orange and plum add to the sweet aroma as well as a hint of smoke. Taste: The taste is smooth and friendly. Oak notes with sweet butterscotch, grape skin or wine notes all welcome you with a firm handshake introducing you to a almost peanut butter finish that sounds strange but works beautifully! Opinion: This whisky was given to me as a gift from a friend for my engagement to my now wife. This scotch has a place in my heart and because of this I am clearly biased. In my biased opinion though, this is a fantastic dram and it embodies marriage in an ethereal kind of way. The many sweet moments, and the moments where it requires a more rugged kind of love. It's a beautiful whisky and I highly recommend it! Cheers!45.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: It's sweet and smooth straight off the bat. There is vanilla and coconut and the longer I smell it, toasted marshmallow comes to the front. Taste: Like the Canadians who made her, she's friendly. Vanilla, honey, and graham crackers predominate with some lemongrass making a subtle appearance. The finish is smooth though not very exciting. Opinion: For those who aren't a fan of drinking whiskey neat, the classic Crown&Coke is a great option here. However, this whisky is so smooth and friendly it can easily be drank neat even by the novice. This is great beginner whisky and also one that experienced drinkers can come to for a smooth not complicated dram. Cheers!30.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: The nose has buttery biscuit and corn up front, with nuanced honey and straw notes close behind. Taste: I got tasty cereal grains, honey, citrus fruits and the "zing" that accompany them. Opinion: This was my first Irish Whiskey (said everyone ever) and I'm proud of it. There is nothing wrong with Jameson and as a mixer or sipping neat it's dependable and tasty! Cheers!20.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: The nose starts with corn notes and a sweet smell at first with a hint of exhaust then after a little while fades to nothing. Taste: On the pallet there is no complexity: there's a bourbon-like sweetness and slightly oaky, with maybe a slight note of berries, but that quickly vanishes. In its place however is left a growing unpleasant / bitter mouthfeel at the back of the throat. Opinion: It's not as bad as I was expecting. I'm glad I tried it, but won't be a go to except for perhaps a cheap mixer whisky. Cheers!0.99 USD per Pour

Nose: The nose greets you as very friendly and sweet. Taste: The palate is also sweet with a smoothness that was very appreciated as this was actually my first whisky experience. Opinion: I really liked this whisky. It was smooth, no burn, and great paired with smoking a pipe on your porch with a friend. Cheers!25.0 USD per Bottle

Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Missouri), USA
Reviewed March 15, 2018 (edited October 7, 2018)Nose: The nose is sweet and fruity with grapes and prunes, probably from the oloroso wine that's been added. It's very unique, in a great way, much like the city in which she's made and after which she's named. Taste: It is a strong and bold taste that is sweet and fruity matching the nose, yet has the oaky notes that I love in a whiskey. Opinion: it's a beautiful whiskey. J. Rieger & Co. are doing great things at their distillery and their innovation and creativity are to be admired! I would buy it again and try anything else they make. Cheers!30.0 USD per Bottle
