Corralejo Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Guanajuato, Mexico
Reviewed April 24, 2023 (edited April 25, 2023)Nose: its fruity, and tart with a bit of ethanol. Also has a “fresh” aroma to it. Reminds me of unscented lotion. Overall: an uninteresting nose. Body: started with a slight sweetness, followed bg a leathery, tannic profile soon after. Again, unintersting. Finish: the tannins stick around thru the finish. Leaving a dry, disappointing flavor in my mouth. I need water. Overall: Uninteresting. This is an anejo that people whould “shoot” instead of “sip”.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: a classic sweet and vanilla nose. It’s subtle, sweet with a slight burn. Body: it has a traditional roasted agave body. Sweet and simple. Smoother than most, but average. Finish: short and sweet. Doesnt last long. Final thoughts: 1942 is the epitome if a classically aged tequila. If a traditional profile is what you are after, then 1942 is it. The major drawback is the price. There are definitly other more affordable and interesting tequilas on the market.150.0 USD per Bottle

Certainly worth a try… Nose: reminds me of a warm buttery waffle, topped wirh honey/syrup, and of course there is a classic agave profile. Body: the warm doughy profile continues and eventually replaced with a sweet, cinnamon bite. Finish: its a traditional sweet, agave finish. it doesnt stay too long.60.0 USD per Bottle

A complete different level from the 12... sweeter and deeper with taste and aroma. I had this side by side with the Hakushu 12 and I neglected the 12 LOL. Made it seem like child’s play. Nose: as soon as you open and pour, you can smell the sweet beautiful honey dew melon, caramel green apple aroma - fills the room! Taste: Candied citrus hits your tongue. The melon and green apple continues with less burn than the 12 - not alcohol burn but barrel burn. Finish: honey coating sticks around in your mouth. Had me smacking my tongue and mouth for a minute. Has a sweet aftertaste of tobacco - kind of like after you smoke a real good cigar but not ash, a honeyed refreshing smoke.420.0 USD per Bottle

(Update) I’ve learned to love this whisky. It’s hard to find a dram that is as smooth and sweet as this one. Think Irish whisky. Nose: sweet cream, kettle corn, and honeysuckle Palate: maple syrup, sweet cream and vanilla Finish: maple syrup and cinnamon butter (spiciness) (Prior review)Flat whisky with little to no depth. It’s sweet at the nose with caramel, vanilla and creamy on the palate but no complexity. Even added water to see if it changed anything - nothing. I wanted to love this but it failed me...
