Not at all what I expected from a corn whiskey. The nose is buttery, caramel, sweet biscuit, and toasted oak. The palate is straw, ash, grassy vegetal, licorice, black pepper, and a silky oily mouth feel. I don't find it at all sweet. This reminds me more of Scotch and aged tequila than of any other corn whiskey I have ever tried. I did like it and I look forward to trying a more mellow, matured expression in a few years. Like maybe an 8 yr old?49.95 USD per Bottle

Wolcott Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 1, 2020 (edited September 25, 2020)It's a very smooth rye dominant whiskey. Not much nose, but it blooms nicely on the palate with sweet corn tinged with a touch of apricot. Leather and cinnamon on finish.23.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 29, 2020 (edited August 14, 2020)I cannot imagine why this gets an overall score of 80 while the Evan Williams Black gets an 85. This stuff is head and shoulders above the Black Label. This is a great bourbon for mixing in a summer cooler such as fresh squeezed lemonade.13.95 USD per BottleWalmart Supercenter -
Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 29, 2020 (edited July 13, 2020)To me this is exactly what good quality single barrel bourbon whiskey should taste like. This is the experience I'm looking for when it's just me and a straight up low ball glass of single barrel. Even though each year and each barrel number has it's own distinct character, they are all sublime.30.0 USD per BottleWalmart Supercenter
