Scarabus Single Malt
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed June 20, 2022 (edited November 10, 2022)Great value. Raw Islay "medicinal" qualities, some creosote/band-aid notes. Reminiscent of Laphraoig, but I greatly prefer this (plus, it's cheaper!). Nose: peat smoke, band-aids, tar, lemon. Palate: smoke, salted caramel, green apple, honey, white pepper, tobacco, orange peel.34.99 USD per Bottle -
Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed June 20, 2022 (edited September 26, 2022)Excellent. To me, indistinguishable from Highland Park 18 ($150 single malt), which I've tasted twice. Bright, bold, complex, delicate & balanced. Nose: green apple, a hint of peat, dried apricot. Taste: honey, baking spices, toffee. Creamy mouthfeel, restrained peat smoke tying everything together.42.99 USD per Bottle -
Sherry finish. Smooth, complex, balanced. Favorably compares to $60+ Highland or Speyside bottles from the likes of Glenlivet, Glendronach, Glenfiddich, & Macallan. Nose: peaches, green apple, coffee, vanilla, raisin bran, custard, leather, faint citrus (lemon?). Palate: creamy mouthfeel, light baking spice, honey, the faintest whiff of peat, green apple.27.99 USD per Bottle

Redbreast 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed June 20, 2022 (edited June 22, 2022)Spectacular. Every person I've shared this with has enjoyed it. Beautifully rich, spicy, complex, intense. Nose: baking spice, caramel apple. Palate: cinnamon stick, apple, dried apricots, clove, caramel, vanilla, pear, honey, black & white pepper. Extremely long finish that continues to evolve.82.99 USD per Bottle -
This is excellent! Lovely and complex... different from & WAY better than regular Jameson. Nose: this is the only aspect that's indistinguishable from reg Jameson... apple, baking spices, orange peel, and a hint of rubbing alcohol. Palate: spicy imperial stout! Chocolate & coffee, plus chili/ginger spice, apple/pear, light anise, light caramel. Finish: much longer than regular Jameson... bright spice, cocoa and pear linger. An enjoyable, easy-drinking pour, and a tremendous value, especially at 49.99 for 1.75L at BevMo.23.99 USD per Bottle
