Tastes

Prominent cherry note on the nose along with oak barrel. The palate is oily and tastes like cherry cough syrup with some baking spices, vanilla, and a coffee cake thing. Pretty hot but drinkable without water. I prefer it with a few drops of water. The water being out the cherry and baking spices. At first I was a little turned off by the cherry cough syrup note but have grown to enjoy it as I haven’t had that prominent of a cherry note before. This is a barrel pick from Gresham Liquor Store and I have not seen cherry mentioned much in reviews for the whiskey. Guessing I may have gotten a bottle from a special barrel :)

Orange spice on the nose. Palate follows with baking spices and darker fruit leading to a strong bitter bite making it tough to enjoy neat. It does lend well to cocktails but I’d rather have Old Forster Rye for about the same price.

Tastes like a smoky grilled pear seasoned with salt and pepper. Delicious and borders on exiting. Would buy again at $60 any day

Tasted while camping and didn’t take notes. Recall it being very bland and uninspiring.

Really dig this for the price. Tastes like salted caramel with a touch of citrus.

Not sure I like wheated bourbons. Mouthfeel is super heavy. Not too many interesting notes to me

Nose is kinda fun with lemon pastry notes. Palate is very thin with more lemon and some kind of spice (cardamom?). Over all not too exciting. Quite refreshing over ice though; especially as the ice melts a bit. Not worth $35

Lots of clove and cinnamon on the nose (more like cinnamon candy). Mouthfeel is very full with notes of walnuts and some sort of dried fruit. Finish is super dry and spicy. Adding water brings out more fruitiness. This one’s growing on me but something about it I’m not super jiving with

Interesting nose of dried fruit with a touch of smoke. Palate has wafts of smoke that come and go with dried fruit and light baking spices. Pretty simple but really enjoy the light smokiness that seems to come and go in waves.

So much going on in the nose. I’m not good enough to pick out most of it. I get snickerdoodle cookies and cherries. The mouthfeel is velvety and delightful. Tastes like berry crisp. The heat is there but not overpowering. The finish goes long and strong with earthy notes, even a touch of salty air. A little water brings out some type of berry note. This is really good stuff l!
