Fruity nose. Soft palate with nougat, cherry, vanilla, and baking spices; oak present on finish. Have read very conflicting reviews, as the sourcing of this may have changed at some point. This one has great balance and finesse, and is a huge step up from regular bulliet. Having said that I don’t think I’d wanna pay much more than $35, which is what I got it for on sale. The Four Roses SiB may have a slight leg up with complexity but not worth the extra $15 to me at least. I mention FR SiB as it’s generally believed that’s the sourcing for this whiskey. They do taste a bit similar as well.35.0 USD per Bottle

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 25, 2020 (edited October 26, 2020)Maple on the nose along with cinnamon. Palate is incredibly soft with caramel and a minty finish. The finish has a lingering sweetness, almost like nougat along with vanilla. Opened up incredibly within ten minutes in a glencairn. At first was super closed off. Really soft and easy for 100 proof. The nougat sweet note comes through more with some water along with a touch of oak tannic bitterness. I appreciate the flavors I guess I just prefer more robust bourbons and this is on the delicate side. It has some complexity yet is boring to me. Just not my thing really. I’ve had this, the small batch, and the yellow label. None have really appealed to me. Maybe I’m just not a Four Roses kind of guy.7.0 USD per Pour -
Port Charlotte 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 11, 2020 (edited December 12, 2020)Tasting notes from over the life of the bottle. Always in a glencairn, usually rested. Great neat but a touch of water tames the heat. Still I like the strength and that it’s bottled at 100 proof. Salty air, Seaweed and smoke on the nose, like a beach campfire. Palate is meaty, fruity, and floral. Reminds me of Hawaiian bbq complete with salinity, enjoyed amongst fresh tropical flowers. The finish is spicy and smoky, like a burning ocean; with a bit of oaky bitter tannins. If I had one complaint it’s the bitterness at the end could be a little tamer. Still a great whisky!65.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 19, 2020 (edited April 27, 2020)Big ethanol hit on the nose along with baking spices, brown sugar, butter, and toasted marshmallows. The ethanol on the nose is a tad displeasing but I’d say the taste makes up for it and I’d buy it again at the price I paid ($45). Tastes like toasted marshmallows and magic bars (has a definite buttery flavor) with a bunch of brown sugar on the long finish. There’s a tannic slight bitter note that comes off as cocoa nibs, which blends well with the sweetness. Thick, sweet chewy dessert bourbon. Reminds me of a s’more. If you’re looking for a buttery magic bar brown sugar dark chocolate s’more bourbon this one’s for you. It just fucking tastes good!45.0 USD per Bottle -
Tasted over the life of the bottle, always near in a glencairn, sometimes rested, sometimes with a few drops of water: Hint of wax on the nose with light fruit. Wonderful thick mouthfeel. Floral honey with a touch of smoke, tropical fruit, red apple, red berries, a vegetal/herbal note...mint? Floral, fruity, smokey complex goodness. Wax is present but light. Long smokey, fruity, slightly floral finish with a little casserole crusty edge cheese flavor toward the very end. Would happily buy again at $57.56.0 USD per Bottle

Review is a compilation throughout the life of the bottle. Was always tasted in a Glencairn, sometimes with small amounts of water. Cereal grains, caramel, and toffee on the nose with some type of fruit and a little sea air. Palate is like a salted caramel cakey dessert thing with a touch of smoke or maybe just crispy baked corners. The palate has a touch of smoke toward the middle along with salt. (I know it’s not peated). A little bitter and rubbery toward the end. Long finish with seaweed and a sort of tartness. Really benefits from sitting for about 20 mins. Wasn’t too stoked on it at first but it started to grow on me. Still wouldn’t buy again at $57.57.0 USD per Bottle
