Lots of vanilla sweetness, along with some peppery spice from the grains. Not much bitterness from the barrel, despite the strong vanilla influence. Also, despite it being a very young spirit (they told me at the distillery it ages for 9 months in quarter casks), it doesn't have the spikiness typical of other young spirits. I can't wait to have a chance to try it again.de Vine Wines & Spirits

I am far too flummoxed by this whisky to give proper tasting notes.. but it is truly incredible. It got just the right amount of buttery fruity sweetness, just the right amount of barrel and spice, just the right amount of brine, and just the right amount of smoke. It finishes with some peat and herbs and and brown sugar and oh my god I'm in heaven.

Crowded Barrel Texas Whiskey Festival Blend
Blended American Whiskey — Texas, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2019 (edited August 1, 2021)Vanilla, dark cherries and mollases on the nose, like Cherry coke. The taste is dry, with more vanilla, and corn dust that finishes with a subtle peat peaking through barrel bitters and cherry. -
Crowded Barrel Alliance Series Wyoming Whiskey
Bourbon — Wyoming and Texas, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2019This is a wild ride. I get heavy vanilla and barrel, with some flowers and brown sugar sweetness. On the taste, it explodes with a sour note, kinda like a sour candy, but it quickly turns into vanilla sweetness and English breakfast tea on the finish. -
Crowded Barrel Alliance Series Ironroot Republic
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2019 (edited December 1, 2020)This Bourbon is thick! I get dense dense corn, and mollases. To me, it transforms into salted caramel, which is lovely. -
Belle Meade Sour Mash Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed April 22, 2019The Bourbon is pretty spicy! Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg and something like cloves? Also a decent bit of corn sweetness, and vanilla. Not too much alcohol burn. Lingers just a bit, with anise and cinnamon.
