Noses: 15 is spicier and woodier than the 12 on the nose. 12 has a fresh fruity petrichor malt note on the nose. 15 comes in with some darker cinnamon and vanilla extract, honey. 12 has a vanilla ice cream note, Palates: 12 is clean, fruity and a bit drying. The malt chewiness hits early, carried with a shortbread note for sure. Citrus peel. A slight sherry. 15 is decisively a bit oilier, fried banana is a good note here. Still creamy and smooth. Nutmeg. Finishes: 15 has citrus peel and slight peppermint. 12 is super creamy with a mild spiciness

Nose: floral, honeyed pears, caramel apple. Sea spray. Some earthy sherry. Vanilla. Craisins. Palate: big on fruits here. A slight heat. A nice malt chewiness that brings a slight nuttiness. Moderate salinity in the mid palate to finish. Very slight sherry. A zip of citrus. A drop of water brings out the citrus, honey, and wood notes here Finish: mild oaky tanins, slight sherry earthy/mustiness, apple cider.Blazing Onion

Palate: ashy peaty smoke gives way to a slight honey. Smoked Seaweed and salt air. Theres some bitter citrus peel in here somewhere too. Nose: shortbread, a little woody spiciness, buttery, vanilla. A little citrus. Honey. Palate: buttery shortbread, fruity red apple with just a little apple peel. Creamy. Some mild chewy malt note. Peanut brittle (not the peanutt note, the brittle part), a bit of maple. honeyed pear. Finish: very light, oaky. A mild amount of tanin comes in.

Reviewed November 16, 2023 (edited November 19, 2023)Nose: salt air brinyness, peat dankness, vanilla, smoke. Getting a bit of oak here too. Palate: chewy maltiness a mild vanilla sweetness. A hint of black pepper on the mid palate. Peat is prominent but in a lighter way than islay. Getting some honeyed pear here too. Salinity is consistent at the front and end palate, like a gentle sea breeze. Some dry oaky tanins here too fade into the finish. A mild nuttiness. Finish: chewy malt fades into phenols that coat the middle of the tongue. Getting some barrel here too. -

Reviewed October 28, 2023Nose: super fruity and initially funky. The funk goes away a tinge as you sit with it. A bit of wood polish. Some malt dank/funk. Sourdough comes out here for sure! A bit of brown sugar. Palate: definitely getting strong barrel notes here, wood tanins come in to balance the sweetness from the mash. Some date, raisin. Has a mellow malt chewiness. Caramel. Slight nuttiness. A hint of green apple? Finish: drying with a tinge of brown sugar sweetness. Warming. -
Nose: sherry, oily, berries and cream? Buttered toast. Sweet vanilla. Palate: fuller bodied and more complex than the 12, which is to be expected at the hugher proof. There is a slight oaky bitterness here that lends a beautiful balance, has a hint of black pepper note too. Honey and fruity notes come through as well as baking spice. Nose: fruity and a bit funky, sweet smelling. Definitely can smell the aroma of the barley here. Orange marmalade, coconut, baking spices, earthy sherry, and a toasty oak. Palate: fruity and approachable, smooth. Definitely get the sherry here. Honey, malt and spice. A mild toasted oak and butter. Very, very similar to the nose.
