Tastes

Very fruity and salty on the nose. Because of the wheated mash bill, the taste is somewhat spicy/peppery, but smoother than a traditional wheated bourbon and certainly more briny, with some nice subtler notes of banana and tropical fruits. Not the longest finish but not super short either.

Definitely a lot of fruit flavor here, almost an apple pie taste. A little bit of brininess and honey on the nose. Not the most complex Scotch and the finish could be a bit longer, but overall very solid.

This is a pretty amazing bourbon - a different taste in every sip or smell. Sometimes you get a wallop of oak, sometimes it’s more of a heath bar/toffee kind of thing, and every once in a while there’s even a bit of brine. Just an extremely complex but also very drinkable bourbon. (This review based on the B518 batch.)

Definitely some very nice farmyard, almost briny notes. A much lighter style of bourbon - takes some getting used to but this really grew on me after a few glasses.

Heavy tones of oak - possibly even too oaky. More subtle tones of honey and even something sour, almost cherry in flavor.
