Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 23, 2023 (edited August 26, 2023)The last time I had this it seemed like a perfect summer pour, a chardonnay of whiskey. -A great nose with honey and sweet tobacco. -A crisp palate with that bright Glenmorangie malt, but with slight undertones of peat, juniper (gin), and pine. It's a beautiful balance, evoking an inviting forest.95.0 USD per Bottle -
Holladay 6 Year Soft Red Wheat Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Missouri, USA
Reviewed July 19, 2023 (edited May 9, 2024)(The bottle continues to improve and become more elegant as it opens up and loses more of the ethanol note...) The nose offers simple honeyed apple and bread vibes. The palate definitely has a appreciatively soft mouthfeel, a little sweet apple, and with a hint of a spiciness. It's pleasant and has opened up, and I would like to compare it to the bourbon someday.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Still Austin Bottled in Bond Red Corn Bourbon Whiskey (Summer 2023)
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed July 19, 2023 (edited June 24, 2024)The bottle does take time to open up... Nosing reminds me of caramel apple and slightly grandma's stale perfume, and it's the lesser part of the experience. Palate is better: apple bubble gum, black licorice, silky corn oils, and a nice complexity from the red corn (almost amaretto like) has replaced the perfume note.79.0 USD per Bottle
