My store pick was finished in Foursquare rum and tawny port casks and is the fruit-forward flavor bomb you would expect given those finishes with a MGP cask-strength base. The only knock is it could be more viscous and less tannic...

It's slightly better (and creamier) than the 2013 Islay Barley (3.75) after trying both side by side, but I still can't get excited enough about it to give it the full 4 star rec.

Peaches, peaches, peaches... All I can think of is Bowser's song with this beaut. The note just does not go away and begs for another sip. Sure, it's got that malty Chattanooga note and is a little youthful, but it just might pair with ice cream...

Definitely if you like chocolate and a unique herbal note with an effervescent quality like cola, you have come to the right place. Also it's very tannic, which I prefer the opposite. I'd say it's better than Vantage, and the amburana isn't overbearing. I could see raising it to 4.25 in future tastings.

The rye market is so saturated with quality ryes (like Old Ezra, Jack Daniels Barrel Proof, Sagamore Spirit, Bardstown--just to name a few), the first emotion of tasting this rye was almost immediately regret that I didn't get the Russel's Reserve single barrel rye instead. Minty dill with a wood note similar to Jack Daniels actually that brings a burnt sugar taste. Unlike the depth of the JD though, this suffers from a faint ethanol note that cheapens the experience to match its price tag. It's still a good whiskey, but the bar has been raised. If that ethanol note can just go away after opening up...

Initially after first being opened it was too hot and ethanol forward, but it needed time to open up and then came the stone fruits alongside flavors of vanilla, spice, and oak, and there is a nice creamy mouthful to it. .

Similar notes to the 1910, but the 10 years in the barrel make it so more elegant and lovely. It's also better than 1920, but very different and somewhat worth the hike in price if you find it for msrp...
