Like a very light pinot grigio. Thinner legs, nice beads. Nose: Baked agave, with a decent pepperyness. Still decently buttery but more earthy than the blanco. Cooked Meyer lemon, touches of green olive. Hints of dried mango or papaya, slight mint. Red apple, lighter pear, blood orange, grapefruit, nice ceylon and saigon cinnamon, touch of allspice, dried ginger. Water brings out a touch of chamomile and tightens up the pepper. On the palette: Massive agave hit, refreshing, oak lays nicely and is warming on the tongue. More tropical fruit on the palette than the nose. Beautiful peppery finish with cinnamon and earth. Outstanding.

nice green olive thing / slightly briny with dried chiles hiding in the background behind asian pear fruit, touches of basil and tarragon. not as lush as the 1579 or as rich as the 1146, but it has amazing delicacy and the oak provides a great little boost to a great fun agave character

A great way to get into sipping mezcals if you want something a little more gentle. Reasonably priced, reasonably available... made in an authentic way with a nice balanced profile that is reminiscent of some tequilas - good agave as the backbone, light pepper, flowers, citrus, with smoke levels that lay just beneath everything to add delicacy and complexity. Clean, not esoteric. Not great for mixing as it is perhaps a touch delicate.
