Daviess County Kentucky Straight Bourbon French Oak Finish
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 18, 2021Nose: lots of vanilla, oak and cherries with some brown sugar. Palate: strong oak with some brown sugar and cherry syrup. Also a bit grassy…nod to the rye. Finish: spicy and long Really nice bourbon. -
Nose: All vanilla and oak here Palate: Very thin, almost watery. Definitely get some brown rice syrup along with a bland carb note. There is some minor toasty notes but not much complexity here which may be due to the brown rice replacing the rye in the mash. That makes it very drinkable but a bit boring. Finish: The finish lingers a bit with an odd yeasty note at the end. Not bad by any means but I enjoy more complex whiskeys with a backbone. This is certainly easy drinking and smooth.
