Tastes

Nose: sweet almost bourbons. Touch of cured meats. Palate: continued bourbon feel, savoury, checked the bottle no mention of cask but mortlach usually sherried by G&M so be surprised if actually bourbon. Just very sweet and caramelly as opposed to rich spice Finish: medium more sweetness and little bit of spice. Good dram Prefer the discovery range miltonduff which u can get for about half the price 👍

Nose: lots of spice, wood, cloves. Palate: spicy rich Finish medium , longer than a bourbon Overall an enjoyable dram but I probbaly do prefer bourbon as opposed to rye as I prefer the smoothness to the spice

Nose is some smoke and pine Palate is rich oily and spice. Finish medium drying and more smoke I enjoyed this like i enjoy most Jura products. Always worth a go as very consistent

Nose is sour green apples, unripened pears and a touch of leather Palate is rich warm fruity and creamy with pears Finish is medium with oak and stewed fruit.

Nose bananas on the first hit but as it breathes pears and green apples. The palate is light and fresh with pear drops but a dash of pepper to spice things up The finish is medium with some new wood and a continued pepper Overall a very light and enjoyable dram

Nose is rich mellow spice cigars and veneered wood Palate continues with spice and wood and some caramel but not as rich as the nose The finish is short and lots of wood. Quite drying

Nose is sweet caramel/toffee Palate is thick chewy vanilla and spice and more toffee Finish is short and woody Must admit as a bourbon I prefer Buffalo Trace from the same stable but I’m a bourbon beginner. Both make an excellent old fashioned Tbh this probably has more to it than Trace but I find BT very drinkable

Nose is sweet sweet caramel Palate is oak and spice Finish is medium and bold. Lots of oak Quite a powerful dram and definitely a good drop

Nose is fruit and vanilla. I thought it had spent some time in a bourbon cask. But the sherry is their in abundance Palate is rich and fruity with a small amount of spice. Quick a thick chew to the mouth not cloying Finish is rich spice fruit and medium! Enjoyable dram and look forward to trying more from this relatively local distillery!

Nose is dried fruit and coconut to the fore Palate is light with some sheet sweetness Finish is very short and sweet.
